Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Amn

Hey ppl I have ALMOST beat BG2 but I cant seem to find Jon Irenicus....I know he's somwhere in/near that tree city....I was told he is in "The Palace" but I dint c him in there so I'm gettin curious....Can NE1 out there help me?
