Attn xboxers please help

u might be able to help me with this:
a few minutes ago i was playing xbox live and i started noticing my game play was messy then as soon as this guy shot the flame througher at me it like froze and over the speakers this loud noise came on and my controler went crazy. I felt the xbox and it really was abnormaly hot but i dont think that is the cause because if it over heats it just shuts off and an orange light flashes please help me

Well it sometimes does have glitches but that doesn't sound like one......Turn it on without a disk in it and go the the options menu or wutever it's called......there should be something in there that says auto/turnoff or something.......enable that and if you leave your XBOX on, it'll go off after six hours of not being active.....I know that's a long time, but you can't change that.....that's all I can think of.......

otherwise, try to go to the xbox live menu when you switch on the system. then it will probably ask to install a new version of your live software. it might solve the problem.
