I decided to make it a wallpaper, so I expanded it and I'm currently working on the details of the rose itself.

I need to make it darker, add some wetness, and texture to it because I feel it looks a bit cartoonish.

It is very nice......But are you going to keep the white background? I think you should try to do something with that...

The best way to draw on the computer is to get one of those pen and tablet sets. You can draw freehand on the tablet but it comes up on the computer.

I've heard about those. Not really sure yet. I was working on this a few days ago but my computer froze before I could save.

Well, I have some inspiration right now, so better get working.

neto, you could just color it in pixel by pixel... but it would require a lot of patience lol

[N]eto
02-01-2004, 05:53 PM
That's a big no. I have patience, but not enough patience for Pixel Art for such dimensions.

Peppage
02-01-2004, 06:42 PM
Yeah, that is incredibly tedious.

Sorry guys, I'm going to have to start all my current projects from scratch due to the fact that I lost all of the PSDs and I formatted my computer. Stay tuned.

Tip, Neto:

Use Illustrator, for now I see that you are not going to make a photo quality piece. I assume you are making an illustration, so use

Adobe Illustrator

It has these special image formats called vector (photos and photoshop has raster). It is a mathmatical formula in which all the pixel IDs are one color.

You cannot produce photo quality images in there, however, if you are making an illustration, you should use it, for the vector format will let you increase teh size without damaging the quality.

(Theoretically, you can make it the size of a 747, and still retain its sharpness.)

First of all, these were the outlines of the images. They were going to be photo quality, since Adobe Photoshop is very capable. I'll get on it as soon as I have time. Thanks anyway.

Actualy photoshop is known for having poor print quality, as it hasnt got acurate sizing. I like to use Illustrator 10 for CD covers etc as its far more accurate. :)

Shame u ditched it as it looked nice.

It wasn't ever really meant to be printed either way, and Adobe Photoshop does have good printing quality. All you have to do is max out the DPIs.

I'll see about redoing this project once I get home...

Shadowfax
04-08-2004, 03:29 AM
Yes...I agree, Photoshop does have good print qualities. But if you want to print, then save the photos as TIFs, then upload into Quark.

Once you make the DPIs do large, it will take a very long time to save. tried 1440 dpi once, and a simple stroked circle was about 100 MB.

[N]eto
04-08-2004, 03:34 AM
Really? I have increased the DPIs of some of my images quite largely and I've yet to notice that much of a difference in file size.
