I was trying to go another site that I'm a member of and I got this:

Warning: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (111) in /home/virtual/site2/fst/var/www/html/forums/admin/db_mysql.php on line 40

Warning: MySQL Connection Failed: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (111) in /home/virtual/site2/fst/var/www/html/forums/admin/db_mysql.php on line 40

There seems to have been a slight problem with the database.

Is it my computer or is it their server or whatever it's called?

its their server by the sounds of it, its a case of letting them sort it out and try again later i think.

Its nothing to dow tih there server... its just that there missing a file.... or they havent set the correct CHMOD permissions... most prob needs 777

in that case the file will of disrupted MySQL, the database and so disrupting the server from allowing entry....

nope, coz MySQL doesnt require a database. It only requires a PHPAdmin file....

It's the server or files within the server that are running errors.

Servers have nothing to do with it. if a server was down then hundreds of website's wld have the same trouble.... Its just:

1. Bad Connection to MySQL
2. CHMOD incorrect.....porbs needs a 777 Mod
