well, for me, i never really liked highschool but hey it's all good i guess...
uhm, from my experience, teachers don't really care if u do ur homework or not, if u don't i guess u just get lower marks...

when I had gym class we changed infront of other people, it's not such a big deal really, u don't get right naked or n-e thing, lol...

I never had to take a driving class so i wouldn't know, i am sure it is pretty easy tho, i mean, hey... i got my licence! lol..

In our high school we didn't take an egg home for parenting class, we took home one of those computerized babies, it was so aweful...lol....mine almost died, i got a really bad one. It cried all the time, and i did everything i was supposed to do! lol
I am sure you will be fine! highschool is actually not all that bad!

What is NJROTC??

THANK GRACE!!!!!!!!!!!! i'm feeling better about gym...but it still scares me.......... Do you have to climb those rope thingies? Or run through tires or some of the sorts?

NJROTC is...um...well, to me it looks like military stuff, but someone on the Angel Drill team told me it was way different from drill teams. she didn't tell me how, though...so...i dunno what's it's really about...

Hmm...

Hello, and welcome to this year's edition of Inside the Schools. My name is Gabriel, and I will be your host for tonight's show.

Well, let's see here...seems our dear friend Whitney has mailed us from "somewhere" and would like us to answer a few of her questions. Let's take a look.

"Dear Inside the Schools, I would like to know what high school is like."

Whitney, it's more than you think. It's not so much about the school work, not at all. It's more about how you interact with other people and the enviroment you'll be in that will affect the rest of your life. Sure, you will need a high GPA in order to get into a good University and/or College, but it's how you handle yourself and others that will create the adult you'll be for the rest of your life.

"Is it true that the teachers don't give a dem if you don't do your homework?"

This one really depends on the kind of school you go to. Even though it seems that they don't care, what can they really do? After all, it is your grade, not theirs. This will affect you, not them. It is better if you work hard, because in the end, no one wants to be a failure.

"Do you have to change in front of others during gym?"

Yes, as a matter of fact, you do. I'm surprised you didn't experience this in Middle School. But it's not all that big of a thing, everyone else has to do it too. But all you need to know is that when everyone goes in there, it is to get dressed and nothing more. So don't feel like they'll be looking at you.

"Is band really a graded subject? Would it make a difference to your GPA?!"

It is a class. Even though it is an elective, you still need to put a certain amount of effort into it in order to gain a grade. It will affect your GPA, but if it's something you enjoy, that shouldn't be a problem.

"What about driving class, how hard is it? What's the chance of crashing?"

As far as I'm aware, dear Whitney, you have to be nearly 16 years old of age to take this class. It is rather fun and it will help you receive your driver's license. It is not that hard, as long as you pay attention and don't mess around...much. The chances of crashing are the same as if you were on the road. You mess around, you crash.

"What about parenting classes (bleh...), do we really have to take care of an EGG?"

This, again, depends on the school you are in. You may have to take care of an electronic baby, or an egg. It's a rather great experience, if you ask me. And it will teach you a bit of responsibility.

Now, we have a letter here from our friend, whom entitled himself GameFreak.

"Do they play pranks on Freshmen?"

Again, this depends on the school you go to, and you're attitude. If you act like a complete immature brat, then yes, it is likely for the older classes to play a prank on you, such as placing you in a trashcan. We, of course, hope you don't suffer this horrible fate.

This concludes tonight's show. If you have anymore questions, feel free to mail us again. Thank you.

Note: To your last question, what exactly is NJROTC?

The work isn't as hard as you think, the teachers don't care what you do just as long as your not getting in their way, gym is better (changing infront of someone isn't that big of a deal), and, yes, band is a graded subject and counts toward your GPA.... Its way better then middle school. You have so much more freedom and you mature so much and learn way more then just what you learn in classes. You meet new and better friends. Its just over-all a life changing experience...

Some teach's dont care, some do, most will try to help you out. Yes you ahve to change infront of other during gym, there are osme exceptions in some school but not in mine. You can have band as agraded subject here, but most just have it after school. Yes everything will make a differenece to your GPA. Driving classes are usually easy but cost over 300 usually. there is a chance of crashing, if your ever riving a car there is a chance. Yes all girls have to have a parenting class. Its mandatory in every school i believe. Not an egg aymore, i believe its a little techno doll that records everything you do to it, or atleast it is here. NJROTC is a tough one, you have to dress in uniform once a week and you have 3 classes there, its not that bad though, but you do have to goto training camps. ( not in NJROTC and never have been btw) And dont be scared, just be yourself, its like regular school, but more ppl and harder classes.

It depends on the person and what you're good at... And who you typically hang out with, and your personality. I, myself, am a standoffish person in who I am really good friends with. I try and talk to everyone, but i'm sort of shy, and stick to those who understand me best... I don't do that well acedemically... Everything, to me, is just there... wasting me time ('cept History! Which I love and adore!). Though, I really love anything in highschool that has to do with music... I used to really not like ensembles and choirs when I was in middle-school.
