how do the cards go by the lettering i mean i know some of them like the rare and the ultra rare gold but how can you tell if it is a super rare or secret rare or secret super rare and so forth an which is the rarets and what does sp,ssp mean in yougioh cards?

well...from my knowledge and playing the game for like 3 years (stopped though), im not sure how u tell how its rare but it has something to do with the color of the Card's lettering, if its a holo (holographic), and sometimes, below the image of the card, it will say its rareatisty (is that a word lol)...i think ultra rare is the rarest although im not sure...maybe someone could clarify that a little better

black colered letter are normal,holos are holo rare cards,silver is super rare and gold is ultra rare the cards you get out of a game are super-secret rare cards

there is no such thing as super secret rare and secret rare is the rarest types of cars u can get

Card Rarities:

Standard Release:

Common - Regular card, no foil. (many in one box)
Short-Print Common - same as common only a shorter print run. ex. Thunder Dragon (probably about 1 per box)
Super Short-Print Common - same as common only a very short print run. ex. Cocoon of Evolution (might not even get one in a box)
Normal Rare - Silver Lettering. Plain picture. ex. Shield and Sword (many in one box)
Super Rare - Normal Lettering. Foil Picture. ex. Raigeki (About 3-4 in one box)
Ultra Rare - Gold Lettering. Foil Picture. ex. Mirror Force (About 1-3 in one box)
Secret Rare - Polarized Lettering (many colors). ex. Serpent Night Dragon Foil lines in Diagonals. (about 0-1 per box.)

Promos:

Parallel - Polarized Lettering. Perpedicular Foil lines. ex. Harpie's Feather Duster

Secret Rare - Same as standard secret rare. ex. Tin Dark Magician

Ultra Rare - Same as standard ultra rare ex. Shonen Jump Blue-Eyes White Dragon
