A quick update on this...

I found out that the new version of vbulletin can do image verification.

I already activated it for thegenie.net forums
http://www.thegenie.net/forums/register.php since it is version 3.0.0

CD forums will be soon upgraded because of these spammers.

Give me some weeks to perform this, i need to get a new update license for CD forums and it seems not very easy to upgrade the database from 2.2.9 to version 3.0, at this time, new users may register at thegenie.net if they like.

Oh yes...I have seen tha for quite other things. I have wondered long ago why vbbulletin did not have this...Hopefully you will now stop this...wait...

The bot may have been programmed to record the email addresses. That will then prove useless this image verification. This also prevents sign-up. Can it not just a be a guest and find out email that way?
