This all depends on your mother board actually. It has to be able to set the clock speed in the bios.

well I don't know if your motherboard supports it.

You also have to worry about heat and voltage.

1. Overclocking is dangerous
2. Overclocking violates warranties
3. There are many sites about overclocking just google
4. Some companies provide pre-overclocked components.

I know somone that overclocked his PC once and it ran faster but it was generating to much heat and crashed many times.

So he put bigger fans in and made a pipe from I think his air conditioning unit and this blasted the cold air into the bottom of the PC. Worked ok but still very dangerous to over clock a PC.

Their are all kinds of crazy mods to make sure overclocked PCs don't over heat. It is the bane of some peoples existance to try and have the fastest processor. It may not be a mod but my favorite is the peltier (http://www.heatsink-guide.com/peltier.htm). It gets super cold on one side(just about 0 degrees) and on the other it gets incredibly hot so that is the side you have to cool with water. It is an awsome thing to use but very dangerous.
