Well I chose the Mazda MX5 to start with but then I changed and went to the Honda S2000 as soon as I got it.

Ive never had a prolem with my dodge neon well untill race 86 but i cant do that in any car!

But did you know if u fully kit up the vwgti (for speed handling and x celeration) then buy the s2000 and un kit that, then buy the skyline then buy the vwgti again it makes a tun of cash? meh ya probably did.

Oh forgot to ask, 2 people have told me now that if you complete it you get a ferari but ive seen it completed and it only opened the body kits, is there any truth to it?

but u can't have the skyline from the beginning without cheating, and the game doesn't allow you to trade your car for an another with the same setting like the previous version, which means that you will loose all unique performance uprades. I finished the game with only my Miata (or MX-5). And with all the unique performances on, My Miata seems much better than the skyline (both with all level 3 regular performances):
accelerate: draw
topspeed: miata
handling: miata

All I can say is that in the first NFSU. The fastest car is NOT the skyline, it is infact the Impreza. (hope my memory is correct) The Skyline is probably the fastest car in the game for early acceleration (at first - second gear, good for drag racing) but Impreza is actually faster overall (It also has decent drag acceleration). This is seen in the acceleration through the second and fourth gears. However the bad thing about the Impreza is that you can't control it :( The control for that car is terrible. You can get into a corner at 200km/hr but you'll never come out of it!

Overall the best car in the game is the RX-7 hands down. That car can kill Skyliines anyday! Skyline may get an early lead but the RX-7 will catch up very quickly for it accelerates fatster than the Skyline at higher gears and I personally prefer the handling of an FC.

In the end, the fastest car is determined mostly by ones opinion. But always remember, no matter how fast your car is physically it won't be fast if you can't DRIVE!
(This is seen in the example of the impreza; fast-ass car but can't really used it to its' potential.)

*note the cars I've talked about have all the same level 3 upgrades.

Anyway I always used the Honda S2000 in NFS UG, just liked it more I guess and I have just got NFS UG2 today for £25 pre owned.... not played it much but me kinda like it so far.

I think the Nissian Skyline GTR is the best car in the game. I think the Hummer H2 is pretty cool too. And the Lincoln Navigator is cool too, especially with the American Muscle in the engine.
