Hi, How can i tell, without opening my machine, if my graphics is 8X compatible, i have a 4X G Force MX 440 and im getting an Fx5200 256 8X but i wanna no if it will be compatible, looking if my slot is 8X compatible, without opening the machine, how do u tell?

You can check your motherboard manual, enter your bios and see what speed you can set your AGP to, or use something like http://www.belarc.com/Programs/advisor.exe which tells you.

thank you! ...but what bit of the program am i looking at is it this bit with the 8x or is that just a coincidence

nope that is the motherboard model, which can be searched for on google for specs.

i cant tell without opening myne so it's best to just open it up. Unless you find a way.
