image color

ok i was wondering how to change an images color to blend in with the background (look at my avatar for an example, when it gets to the image its all blue)
i did it but it was an accident so can someone tell me how to do it

You possibly created a layer above the rest and coloured it totally tourquise, then set the layer blend mode to 'color'.

Or somehow.. you pressed ctrl+u and then ticked the colorize box, and made it that colour.. but thats preetty impossible:P
