when you see a blue or green circle in the middle of the screen, shift gears. Nitrous also helps if you have it unlocked. ;)

i do do that...if that makes sense...lol...i shift and i use n2o but the 350 just speeds up real fast all of a sudden and then i lose...:(...lol...

Use the Nitrous when your in higher gears towards the end of the race:D

i sometimes tend to use it as soon as i start because u can get a mega headstart if u do all the gears perfect till you nos runs out.....

I think i can solve this prob. It's because the engines are like this. If you have an extreme nitrous pack and a pro package engine, there's a chance your engine will go "KabooM". It also works if you have pro package nitro and street package engine.. I think youm get my drift by now. so if you have extreme nirto, buy an extreme engine.
Oh, and this is things for NFS U2 i'm talking about so JoshC, don't go on about this being a forum for number 1

actually it doesnt always work like that, your engine in relation to the nitrous has little to do with it in fact, the main reason your engine blows is your transmission, if it runs out of gears and you redline the hell out of it it will explode, if you have the stage 1 transmission, take it off, for it is a short shift kit and you run out of gears much faster, your normal tranny is much better than the stage 1, all the other trannies are good though, to also get more speed, dyno your car and setup the parts for the maximum speed and acceleration, set your nitrous for more power rather than longevity for short races and set it for longevity on long races, that way you use the nitrous to the best of its ability, using your nitrous early is a bad idea also, because the AI will increase speed quicker based on your takeoff then they will use thier nitrous while you have none and blow you away, another idea would be to get another car to do the drags, have different cars for different types of races, since you are able to get 5 cars in the end, if we are talking bout nfsu2
