It's hell to summon the Shining Dragon. Watapon can be useful if you draw it by a card effect (it will special summon to the field automatically). Sorceror of Dark Magic is quite amazing, but Pyramind of Light's effect does not compare nor relate to that of the movie's.

Yeh... Shining Dragon does seem a little, well, pointless...

Unless you have alot of dragons you can throw away with stuff like Graceful Charity, or just use ones with low defences as throw-away defencive monsters...

Other than that, you'd need to have a deck including at least 5 Dragons, all in the Graveyard, to make it worth sacrificing the Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon for it...

The Pyramid of Light does seem rather, well, pointless... :P

The Pyramid of Light is better used with the packs that have the 8 movie cards in them. Two of the cards, Sphinx Teleia (2500/3000) and Andro Sphinx (3000/2500), let you spend 500 life points to summon them to the field when the pyramid is on the field (both are lvl 10 monsters). If both these monsters are destroyed at the same time, you pay 500 life to summon Theinen the Great Sphinx (3500/3000) from hand or deck to the field. When he is special summoned this way, pay 500 more life to increase his ATK by 3000 till end phase. Theinen can not be normal summoned or set.

Sphinx Telia and Andro Sphinx can't be special summoned from the graveyard, nor can they attack the turn they are summoned to the field. However, if they attack a defense creature and destroy it, they do damage equal to half the monster's Def (Telia) or Atk (Andro) to opponent's life points.

There ya go. Hope that made the Pyramid a little bit stronger in your eyes there.

Sure, it's good for summoning those monsters, but what's the point if I have traps set for them by that time?

I'm sure there are cards out there that will elimanate the traps and magic cards so you can summon them. (Can't think of them, since I don't have many cards)

Besides, I've been a CCG player for a little while (Magic: The Gathering, etc). If you build a deck based around one thing or things, you're probably gonna lose anyway unless you get realllllllll lucky.

What about Jinzo?

Just summon him to the field...

Does Jinzo destroy all traps, or just your opponents? Cuz Pyramid of Light is a trap card........

@Violent J: I haven't played Magic in some time. Don't even have the cards anymore. Had to sell them to a friend when I moved in with my g/f. *sigh* Girls can be soooooooooo annoying sometimes! lmao

I believe that Jinzo removes all magic and trap cards from your opponents side of the field...

I may be wrong about that...

Sheddin, I know where you're coming from. I do believe that in the movie, Jinzo was summoned while Pyramid of Light was in play, so I questioned as to why it wasn't removed (Jinzo's effect deactivates any trap cards in play and destroys them). Perhaps Pyramid of Light was immune to the effects of Jinzo, or it's just because it's a Yu-Gi-Oh movie.

Or just because they forgot about that :P

If Jinzo would've destroyed Pyramid of Light to begin with, then the movie would've ended right there and then. Obviously they "forgot" about it, haha...

I actually meant they truly forgot about it :P

As in, they just didn't pay enough attention :P
