a sad thing has happened in the great Oz. Video game Manhunt has officially become prohibited on gaming shelves. The change came when the australian ratings board, decided that instead of making the game R18+ they stopped coppies being made. I've played it once before, it IS violent, it IS aimed at older gamers, BUT they should bring in a new classification. hopefully no other governments in other countries get the same idea!

No No it's very true the game has been taken out of the shops over in AUS.
There is also another game that has been banned from AUS called Leisure Suit Larry.
*copy and paste and edits*
Many saw it coming, but gamers in Australia won't. That's right, Leisure Suit Larry: has been banned in Oz, owing to the country's Office of Film and Literature Classification refusing to rate the game. Naturally, this means that UK gamers would be well advised to snap up a copy on the date of the game's release, before the righteous masses start to make noises in this country. The Office of Film and Literature Classification reported that the game contains ***ual and partial nudity...
The game is well worth a look, as it could well be the funniest title to grace the Xbox. You can pick up the cheeky chappy from 5 November, and watch the media sparks fly...
^^ and Rockstar with GTA think they have it bad for the age 18 games they produce!

America's just enforcing the fact that M rated games say 17+ on them. It sucks, but oh well...

The fine for buying/importing Leisure Suit Larry is a $10,000 fine and or up to 5 years in jail that's what an article said. The following could be bogus i read somewere that you could also be charged for smuggling with intent to sell.

Jeez. That's a pretty harsh punishment for smuggling a mere $50 product.

I don't think they are to harsh i think we are to light on some political issues, i saw a 13 yr old kid go and buy GTA: SA, and leisure suit larry WTF is that. I don't see harm in kids playing some MA, halo1 is MA but its not all that big of a deal i see more blood by cutting my finger. But some of them should not be on display for all to see(EB, GS, has Driv3r, SA, out for all to play). If the parent(s) don't mind them playing the games then teach them that it's just entertainment and not something to do, but i don't think kids should be prone toward certain subjects just because they see it in game's and think nothing of it.
As for the fiintsones i think that's funny now that i do think is to harsh.

ok now you've pissed me off, the first comment i could let off, but the second i can't, Australia is one the greatest countries in teh world, this place is my home and we are a lot better off than anywhere else in the world
we have the best ore, food, resources in the world we could quite easily cut ourselves off from the rest of the world and live quite happily
don't u dare go putting down a place u have more than likely never been and experienced for yourself
