A patent infringement case for the patent, "Method and Apparatus for Spherical Planning," is now pending. The case could have enormous implications and could affect nearly every 3-D video game ever made. Put on your 3-D glasses and read all about it.

Although unlikely that they will win, if they do 3D games will cost too much to make and wont happen. It wont happen, but meH, just thought I'd post it..

I hope it won't happen... most games today are in 3D right?
Sony, Nintendo and MS won't like this.

Yup, all games are in 3D. If this happens, (which it won't) then the gaming world will be plunged back into the days of the groundbreaking (but now seriously old) games such as Space Invaders, Pac Man etc...
Of course, this won't happen...It can't...

Yea I guess but like I said the game developers, Sony and MS will all find a loop hole to get out of the whole thing.

In this particular case the stakes are potentially astronomically high, as every 3-D title any of these 12 publishers has published could potentially be found to be in violation, with damages due to the patent holder. Interestingly, the complaint filed against the companies does not list any specific damages they are seeking, and instead opted to leave it open at this time.
^^Dam... where would he find that money any where did he get teh idea that he could win. I mean they have been making 3D games for a while now and he JUST found this out, or was he wating for more so he could get more money....

well the patent of the wheel was also overturned when it was created in similar circumstances to this, and in courts you can refer back to similar cases, so thats good news;)
