Winamp has died

'The last members of the original Winamp team have said goodbye to AOL and the door has all but shut on the Nullsoft era, BetaNews has learned.

Only a few employees remain to prop up the once-ubiquitous digital audio player with minor updates, but no further improvements to Winamp are expected.....'

The only time I ever used Winamp was on my old, absolutely insane Windows 98 that can't take anything. I didn't like it much then, though. Too hard for me to figure out.

I'm an iTunes girl, though. *has an iPod and hearts iTunes*

I got a Free *cough* plugin for WMP that allows MP3 ripping at max driver speed. It was perfect for me until i got this error.

Winamp will rip music at a max of 2X and Does not allow MP3 unless u get the Winamp 5 pay version... Maybe i can get a hold of it...

I'll check out iTunes too, i guess

I downloaded it and tried it out, it has a lot of option I agree with that, but the layout isn't good for me and it's too big of a deal. with winamp u just open ur playlist and hide ur winamp player and ur done :P.

Just a matter of personal opinion.

You can do that with iTunes, but not to the same level, plus there arent many skins. I still rather it tho:)

Winamp 5 skins are great, try the terminator 3 skin ,the movie was lame but the skin :P its great.

I prefer Winamp to any other media player really...The skins you can get for it rock, same for the plug-ins...
