what is psd?
isnt it the photoshop file extention or something like that?
like instead of opening it up in paint with a bmp file extention or in that weird program that doesnt let you do anything with jpg file thingy, it opens it up with photoshop. thus its like a code that tells the computer what program to use to view the file. in this case it uses photoshop.
i think this is right... someone confirm it since i dont know if i said this right or what =)

Your right Gir:
PSD is a Photoshop only file type as far as I know. If ya save an image such a sig that you have been workin on in Photoshop and have used layers you can edit the sig at a later date but only if you saved it as a PSD file first.
For example... Red Background with txt on top... the txt and background are layered.
so you can move the txt or background as much as you want. To save the sig or image as a JPG or GIF file you need to flatter these layers first. I tend to keep the PSD files so I can edit a sig if a person is not happy with it.
It's all kinda confusing if ya don't have and understand photoshop like a lot of us do.
Altho Gir seems to find the simple things very confusing don't ya lol Girls and computers.... they just don't get a long most of the time lol

the thing with the image is that it's pretty dark and it looks like you used mosly filters. next time you should try messing with the hue/saturain and that is pretty fun. just ctrl+u and set it to colorize ;)
I'm being honest when I say that I don't really like it...

Umm, a Tip: Dont Use Filters Too Often
I Dont Use Them At all, Maybe the Guassian Blur here and there but nothing Else.
would rather brush for a b/g than Filter.

!!!
Well anyways, that is simple, yes, but is is pretty good for someone who just got started in photoshop. Not everyone can airbrush that good, Anubis.
But I agree that filters really are not needed except for gaussian blur. All the rest just makes the entire image horrid. Also the filters in the render menu are not that bad. Find Edges along with some skill can make a photograph seem like a drawing so you can show off :P
Clarity if anyone still needs it. A PSD file is a file with information for Photoshop. It saves more information than a jpg or gif file, as it saves the different layers that the image has (as Nitrus explained). It is only used so you can revert back to make some easy changes, then you would save it as a jpg to use it here. It is just like Omega's sig. It probably has a few layers, one with the Omega symbol, and one with the background, and one with the border. This makes things easier, for if you hate the border, you can just delete the layer. For jpgs, and others, you can't, or at least not easily.
