Well I know this game has been rated 10 out of 10 in most things I have read.
Ok lets see if HL2 will run on this thing I using.

I believe you mean MHz. :P Anyway, I thought it cost more on Steam? Also, you've gotta have broadband for Steam or else HL2 will take literally forever to download. :P If I buy it (which I probably will) I'm just gonna get it in a shop.

This is what you must do.

[I have Bad Dial UP, and this is what i did]

Download steam, register.
Buy game.
Install. Go online. Download files through steam.
Play.
