Contains Spoilers in Story Secton
One of the most highly anticipated games of the year, Halo 2, the sequel to the XBox' savior was the highest ever presales game in history. Was that justified? Read on to find out.
There is no doubt in anyone mind that this will be a great game, as the origional was. But being hyped up to the last by everyone put huge pressure in its shoulders, in my opinion, Bungie didnt raise the bar like Rockstar with San Andreas and VALVE with Half-Life 2. I was disappointed with this game, after reading alot of PREviews, I was sure the hype will be justified, and it would be a world beater. It wasnt.
GRAPHICS - The graphics, 2 seconds into the scene, are great, but thats the porblem, it takes about a second to load the graphics everytime, which looks amateur and frankly bad, It gives the impression it was rushed in Game Dev.
Otherwise they are great, but this is a big letdown. [7.5/10]
GAMEPLAY - The gameplay is good, but its exactly the same as Halo, thats not a bad thing, but with all the time sorting it out, i think they should have done something better. At times its very frantic because you have a hell of alot of enemies after you, but thats it, they are just coming after you, its like what 10 year old dev's do, make it hard by getting loads of enemies, not little enemies with fantastic AI or coming from different positions or mixing the types, snipers on the roof, flanking etc. ONE massive flaw in my opinion is that the indoor levels, with hallways in buildings appear all to be the same, and are also very dark, possibly an attempt to create suspence, but it just frustrated me alot. You will end up falling down pits often, and going the wrong way. There are also 0 navpoints in the game, which is also annoying.[8/10]
LIFESPAN - If you dont stop playing it after 4 hours like me, it should last you about 8-10 hours, not bad, but unless you have XBox Live you probably wont play it again, apart from on Legendary mode, but most wont. [7/10]
MULTIPLAYER - As far as I can see, there are no multiplayer bots, just 4 player, which is really annoying, if the AI is even OK, there should be bots, its cruel, simple as that. More levels that you may play with friends, a few more game modes that you wont. [5/10]
CONTROLES - Controllers are good, the seperate triggers work well for the Dual weilding of guns [10/10]
[<<SPOILER ALERT>>]STORY - Story is NOT good, the flood in Halo were a big surprise, but this time there arent many of the same, you get to play as an Elite, which is fair enough, but playing as different characters in a Shooter means little. Some twists which I didnt like, but its probably more a matter of opinion. Multiple Halos? meH.. [6/10]
