misc effect tutorial which I made us as I went along.
NOTE: THIS IS FOR BEGINNERS
Difficulty: If you can read, and have PS6+, your good to go
-----step 1-----
-Open a new masterpiece, I usually go with 444x444 pix, white background.
-Press 'D' to make the colour tool default.
-Select the Gradient Tool:
.Select a reflected gradient [4th from the left]
.Mode: Difference,
.opacity: 100
Reverse [ ]
Dither [x]
Transparency[x]
-----step 2-----
-Go mad, loads of gradients, about 18, big and small, all over the place.

-FILTER> ARTISTIC> NEON GLOW; I did:
.Glow Size: -7
.Glow Brightness: 33
.Glow Color: Red [FF0000]
This doesnt have to look good, actually - It wont.
-----step 3-----
Press CTRL+J to duplicate the layer.
Making sure the new layer, [the higest one] is selected;
-FILTER> STYLIZE> FIND EDGES
.change the layer blending mode to Color Burn.
PRESS: Ctrl+Alt+E to combine all visible layers
Dupe the layer [ctrl+J]
-FILTER> DISTORT> POLAR COORDINANTS:
.Rectangular to Polar [x]
-FILTER> BLUR> GAUSSIAN BLUR:
. 1.4 pixels

Change the layer blending mode to screen.
dupe that layer, and rotate 90 degrees

there you go, this tut is designed at beginners, to get a grip with filters.
