Just a quick interface i made with Pixels scrolling across. Made in PS and IR. C&C's Please. Would normally have my sites name on, but i cannot link to it. :P

ok but the object of tutorials is to learn, so you should experiment with different shapes etc

meh. the scrolling text wasn't really a main point of it, its just the layout that i was pleased with...

That is why you must experiment with opacity, zoom, and the size and texture of the brushes.

What he said, once you get the hang of all those your on your way to doing good highlights. Another is the right colour, remember white doesn't have to always be the highlight colour ;)
