hmm I think that file can be found under either C:/windows on the HardDrive or System32\... if I'm right that part of the main OS system.

Are you sure it's that file causing the problems your having? What are the problems, how long it been happing and what was the last thing you installed?

If running XP you could always try system restore... I have done that at least once in the past.

Just got it last night and the latest thing i have installed would be NBA Live 2005 . . .

And Yes, i am sure this is the file causing my problems.

well that file cant be delited because so program is using it and you cant interupt the pogres unles you close it.
or you can switch the windows mode to "SAFE MODE" and in there you can delite ANYTHING, even windows files. (dont panic if youre resolution sets to very low)
thats about as much as i know about deliting files

i know bcause i ran Norton and it dectected this Virius file. went to it and found it, and it couldnt be deleted.

Clicked properties on it and it said it was put on Sat at 11 pm (i wasnt on believe it or not)

Says it cant be deleted bcause windows is using it . . .

Changes homepage to this about:blank page with nasty stuff on it. Even installed krap on my comp. 1 thing was this thing called XXXToolbar.

hmm I'm guessing Nortan Anti-virus couldn't delete the file either than....

well the most simple way to sort it out would be to format the Hard Drive. 2 ways of doing this... My computer and right click and format Hard Drive... or if ya really wanna get techno then format the HD through whats called shell on boot up... yea I had to do it this way gos my HD was patisioned into 2 sectors as I was running a duel boot system with 98 and XP

If you do goes as far as formatting which is a quick fix then make sure ya have your Widows ME disk ready so that you can start installing everything again.

Before ya do that tho try booting windows up in safe mode and deleting the file manualy, might also be possible to delete it using MS DOS but I don't know enough about it. Pfff were is good old Redgore when ya need him eh.

Arrr, I've had that bull**** before. Spyware...Changes your homepage and stuff. I think I used Ad-Aware to get rid of it..Although, if it can't be deleted, it's likely to be running. Go on the Windows Task Manager (ctrl-alt-delete), click on Processes and see what's running. If ntjw.exe is listed, click on it, then click End Process. Try deleting it again after that...If that doesn't work, then I'd reccomend System Restore.

my house has 4 comps and we reinstall the windows about every 2months, my bro set a record with 3 months of not reinstalling his windows. its nice to have 2 HDs (like my bro) so you can have all the importants stuff on 2nd hd and windows and unsecure stuff on 1st

i said F it and bought Norton I-Net Security 2k5. It didnt detect viruses, just spyware and Adware.Ieaflets.

Went into safe mode and deleted the files that couldnt bfore. Funny thing is that when I went to Ctrl+Alt+Delete, i closed everything cept Explorer, and I still couldnt delete it.

Just deleted 1 named D3ck.exe also had these files that I had to delete that way:
(in order of detection and deletion)
m00.exe
ntjw.exe
iest32.exe
javavz.exe
ntrp32.exe
d3ck.exe

one just kept poppoing up after the otehr

I've got Norton 05...It's pretty good, my dad got it cheap from eBay I think...Anyway, Spyware's damned annoying. How this happens, I don't know, but I read something about it regenerating itself or something...Like on an FPS how you can respawn...Pretty annoying.

You can change your homepages..

Yeah, but with spyware, whenever you change your homepage, it changes it back to what the programmers want it to be...Usually some crappy search engine or something.
