Broken Wrist

I broke my wrist....i might need surgery in order for it to heal properly....I may never be able to play guitar again...and all because i stuck up my middle finger at this kid....we got into a fight over it and he tripped me then pushed me down...then i fell on my wrist. It's totally out of whack...I'm so scared that my wrist wont ever be the same again...and they said that it may stunt my growth...I'm really depressed right now...and I really dont want surgery...that **** scares me to death...I hate needles, sharp stuff, and I really dont want to get cut open...I'm scared that i'll get put to sleep and never wake up...I know that I'm worrying way too much but I cant help it. I just wish that this **** never happened....I'm typing with one hand...lol....I just ****ing hate this.

MeH thats rubbish aussi.

You dont have to worry about needles, all they do is insert a funky plastic needle on your wrist somewhere [when your drugged], and all injections will go through that. Thats the way its here anyway.

they told me when i broke my wrist that i would never be able to use it the same. that wasnt true tho, ive got a few funky scars but they go away.
i had apparently a really weird breakage and had to have 4 operations, i was always worried with the sleepingy stuff that i wouldnt wake but i over heard when they were telling mum all about it they said that it was a 1:9000000 chance of that happening.
about the growth; it can stop, slow down, speed up or grow on an angle... there isnt a very big possability of this anyway unless you really damaged the growth plate which i doubt you had done.
dont be depressed either, eveything will be alright since nothing bad can really happen ^_^

yeah trust me, you will absolutley be fine. my brother went through worse then invader. broke his wrist, arm, and needed stiches in his head. all at once. he said it didnt hurt though

It took me like 5-7 minutes.

I dont think i'll be fine because they said that it interfered with my growth plate. I might need surgery for them to fix it. I'm scared to death of surgery...

I Was The Same When I Broke My Arm I Thought I Might Not Be Able To Use It Properly Again But I Didnt Really Notice When I Had A Cast On For 6 Weeks The Worst Bit Is Having The Stiches Out Mine Got Stuck In My Arm I Even Broke My Wrist Aswell As My Arm In The Same Accident (I Fell Off My Bike Stupid Aint I) And I Got 3 Titanium Plates In My Arm

But When You Get To The Hospital You Get On The Bed, Have A 1 Inch Needle (Aaaaaahhhhhhhhh) In Your Arm Then You Dont Really Feel Anything After That Your In Surgery For About 3 Hours (It Flys When You Are Asleep). And When You Wake Up You Wonder Where You Are The Stay In The Hospital For 2 To 4 Days Then You Go Home

i damaged the growth plate too, but its turned out fine for me
they told me that i had compleatly destoried it but obviously not

Broke my wrist falling off the top of a slide when I was about 7 or 8 I think...Well, it obviously hurts Redneck you silly little neck of reds...Lol. It hurt like hell at the time but it didn't stunt my growth or any **** like that when I had it fixed...You'll be fine mate, trust me...:)

Well....I need surgery.....Theyre not going to cut me open though...The doctor is gonna put me to sleep, then pop my bone bsck into place...the way it's supposed to be. But I'm scared that I wont wake up.....I just wish it could heal by itself. I'm getting a cast put on next monday, and it'll be on for 6 weeks.

you dont even know when you actually go into the sleep and so its not like you really have a choice with it really.
i mean, they tell you when you will and all, but youre basicly asleep so you cant really organise what they are saying into words you can understand...
then youre awake, so its alright ^_^

tho i had it thru a drip... but i doubt they would use the gas >_O

You'll be fine man. I once had to be drugged for surgery that wasn't even necessary. And if all they're doing is popping the bone back in place... that'll be easy to get through. Best of luck.

Today's the day....I'm going in around noon (in 3.5 hours) and im getting really nervous. I know that everything is going to be ok, but I'm still scared. I can only drink 16 oz of clear liquid for another hour. I cant eat anything until after the surgery. My arm is ****ing killing me right now and my mom wont let me take any medicine for the pain. I freakin hate that all this happened. I want to make the kid who did it pay for the surgery, but my parents have decided not to....my parents are so gay sometimes...I just wish this wouldnt have happened.

soz for the double post but I've got some good news!

I just got back from the surgery and it went great! I don't know why I was so scared of it at all...I didnt feel anything! I'm in a temporary cast (it's mostly cotton ans it has a strip of metal) but I'll be put in a standard cast next monday. I have to wait so that the swelling will go down. I'm just glad everything went as planned!
My wrist still hurts though...But I took some painkillers and they should help

I just got my cast on yestersay and it looks awesome! It's black, and I bought two paint pens for people to sign it with! lol I know I'm a dork, but it is actually pretty cool....besides the fact that it hurts every now and then.
