on the sea level in mario, i think its called jolly roger island. im up to a part where u have to get a star but, i have to go through a whirlwind sorta thingo with a propellar making it move.i just cant get to it without losing breath.

@super mario 64-Please don't double post. It could result in a ban. And to answer your question. To find the ? boxes,you have to go where that sun symbol on the ground is. Its right when you enter the castle. If you have more than 20 stars,go to that sun shaped thing and press X. After that,look up. You should be transported to an area. When you get there,you'll see a huge red switch. Jump on it. You'll be back in the real world with the ? blocks activated.

@joshy1111-Please stop double posting. It could result in a ban. To answer your question now. In order to get to the 3rd floor,you have to get the first 2 stars there. Then,you can go to the 3rd floor. Hope that helps ya!

This is might be wrong. This is to go to to the 3rd floor You have to go up the stairs, go to the most right door. Enter it and you should see a table with a ? block there*. Get it and float up to a small ledge there. and then enter the door. Voila there you are.

Where exactly was the yellow ? switch at? I think i'm gonna add a format to this....

I think it was at the end of "peaches fun slide" in the portrait on the right wall of the character change room.

oh and to elaborate on the red ? switch question: when you get to the are after looking at the light, you'll be in the air right above a platform with the switch on it. but be careful because its a fairly small platform so make sure your entirely above it before you press the R button.

There is no yellow switch........

but you don't have to butt-pound to the platform. You can glide down to it.

it was. Then the star came out. (did you know there's a secret star there? you have to get under 19 seconds and something and a secret star will pop out.)

BTW-When you're getting that secret star on Peach's Secret Slide,it's 21 seconds...

I think you need to be Wario to get that Star.. you get the ? box then walk through the whirlwind...i hope that helped you

We bought this game for my daughter. We can get 7 of the red stars. We can see the 8th red star on the "floating island" and have tried long jumping to get there, with no success. One of the signs mentions a red flying cap - can't find it either! What do we need to do? I'm sure the game is great - if we could just get past this point. She has lost interest......

You people seem to know what you are talking about, maybe you can help me! I am just starting the game, I'm in the bob-omb painting. I can find all 8 red stars, but can only obtain 7. The 8th red star is above a tree on a "floating island" next to the mountain. It is above the first flower garden to the right of the path. I have tried long jumping from the top of the mountain - no success. I have tried jumping into the cannon - no success. I have tried collecting 100 coins (as I read somewhere on this site) and cannot find 100 coins! HEEELLLPPP!

Ah, well, let's start with not double posting. Now, I'll answer you. This seems easy, but you only need to get 1 regular star to get to the next room. To get to the Floating Island, you have to activate the red ? blocks. If you have gotten one regular star, just go on to the room with a star with a one on the door. When you see the star in front of the stairs in the castle, just post here again. Unless you need more help that is....:rolledeye
