Reported by MCV back in back in January, EA has confirmed that Need For Speed: Most Wanted is in the works.
Currently being developed by EA Canada, the game features the familiar combination of fast-paced, adrenaline-pumping racing action with detailed customisation that has made the Need For Speed Underground series such a huge hit with gamers the world over.
This time round players not only have to compete with each other to build up their Rap Sheet and make their way up the "Black List" to become the hottest thing on four wheels, but must also evade capture by the police. "Players instantly will feel the thrill of the ride as they hit the streets in an open-world environment where drivers can tune their cars to compete against any class of vehicles or use their wits to out-fox the law to satisfy their need for speed," said Larry LaPierre, senior producer at EA Canada.
Need For Speed: Most Wanted also includes bigger free-roaming environments as well as new cars, customisation options and tuners, and will be available on all major platforms as well as "a next-generation console", although which next-gen console this is has yet to be specified. No release date has been confirmed....
