The Sims University is giving me problems now. The very first one I got, it started to uninstall, but then it said that it couldn't install 'Sims2Ep1.exe'.

I went through the computer instructions from Maxis, and it still didn't install, so they said it was defective.

I exchanged the CD for another one, and the same problem came up. I exchanged it once more, and still, I'm having the same problem.

Why aren't my University CDs working? And what can I do to make it work?

have you tried a complete re-install? i mean starting with sims2

otherwise it might be some kind of hardware incompatibility problem, save all your houses's and families first and then try the complete re-install, if you havn't already.

Hope you manage to get it all sorted out :)

Yeah, I've uninstalled the game (all of it) and reinstalled. It still had the same problem.

I even tried doing a Disk Defragment, but it didn't change anything.

m, that sounds absolutly crap :(, i imagine it can only be one of the following problems, either its a hardware incompatibility problem, software incompatibility problem, or one of ur sims disc's is unreadable although if you have already tried to replacemnt sets we can rule that out :(

If i should think of anything else i shall let you know :)

good luck

***EDIT*** Just had a thought, ill have a look and see how that missing file works, if it is a question of just that one file not being installed i could perhaps email it to you, "presuming its faily small" assuming however that its possible. Ill' have a wee investigation :)

depends on ur definition legal lol, if you consider that you have paid good money for software only to finbd one file will not copy over, in some ways you could view that as unintentionalbe theft on Maxis's part lol.

However the point is a mute one, i did a search for the specific file i my system and it is not around, i hoped it would be a drag and drop operation but it does seem to need it at the install stage, i haven't a clue what happens to the file after this :(

im very sorry, i really hoped this would work. All i can suggest is trying to bend maxis's ear again.

failing that maybe try and remove a few other programs that might be causing the instability, it could be hardware related but so often its more than likely to be another program clashing or interfering with its install.

anyway good luck with it, im sorry the primary plan couldn't be enacted :(

It's okay! ^.^ Thank you though.

>.O I'm just going to go exchange it again. If it doesn't work this time, I'll just get my money back.
