It was a sunny day. There were Taillow everywhere. Families of Digglet and Dugtrio were popping up and down. Jake was just a beginner. 7 pokemon he had, each strong enough. He owned a Treeko as his starter pokemon. He had a Taillow, Zigzagoon, Goldeen, Cacnea, Rattata and a stupid Magikarp. There was a Sandslash popping up and down from the earth too. “I’m going to catch you,” whispered Jake. He went up close to the pokemon, but it buried down into the soft earth again. “Come on” muttered Jake. The Sandslash dug up again staring at Jake closely. “Go Cacnea!” roared Jake. “Use tackle now!” The pokemon used tackle, knocking over the Sandslash. It growled and got up again. “Use tackle now!” The attack missed Sandslash, and it came back with a roll, trying to roll over Cacnea. But when it tried, Cacnea’s thorns suck into Sandslash hurting it. “Go pokeball!” screamed Jake. He threw it at the pokemon and the pokeball rocked once. Twice. Three times. Four times. And it clicked. “Alright!” said Jake. He looked at the Sandslash in his updated pokedex. He was in Lavaridge now. No badges yet. He wanted to get the easiest Gym badge first. It would take about an hour and a half or maybe even two hours to get to Rustboro. “I’ll wait till later,” Jake thought. For that time, he trained his pokemon against other trainers. He was using his Taillow a lot. Against his third rival, he used his Taillow again. “Use peck Taillow!” said Jake. “Dodge it Ekans!” said his enemy. The match was on for about two minutes. Ekans didn’t avoid the attack in time, so it blacked out. Just then, Taillow began to glow. “What the...” began Jake. Taillow evolved to Swaillow. “Wow” said Jake in a low voice. After ten minutes, Jake asked if he could ride on Swaillow’s back to get to Rustboro. It nodded its head. “Alright. Lets go.”
They flew to Rustboro. It took about twenty minutes. Jake hoped that he would be good enough to beat the Gym leader, Roxanne. “This is it. Rustboro City.” said Jake. He brought his Super Rod with him. “I might catch just one more pokemon,” Jake said to himself. He went over to a lake at the top of Rustboro. He got plenty of nibbles, but no pokemon came up out of the water. He waited for another minute, until he got a tug. He pulled it up. A weird looking dumb pokemon appeared. It was ugly and grey. “Dexter do you know this pokemon?” Jake asked the pokedex. “Feebas”, said Dexter, “An ugly pokemon which is seen very little. It is strong when it evolves into Milotic” “I heard those usually live in weird places” muttered Jake. “Go pokeball!” The ball caught the pokemon with ease. Now he had nine pokemon. Now, Feebas, Sandslash and Magikarp were not in his pokemon party. Jake headed to the Gym. When he entered, he saw a shadow at the end of the rocky room. “Roxanne?” Jake asked. “Yes.” Answered Roxanne. “I’m here for a battle,” said Jake steadily. “Oh, okay. Try to beat me if you can!” The room lit up a bit more and Roxanne was easier to see. Jake and Roxanne stepped up onto the pokemon field. Roxanne wished Jake good luck. And then, the battle started. “I choose you Treeko!” “I choose you Geodude!” “Use absorb Treeko!” roared Jake. “Dodge” said Roxanne simply. Geodude dodged the attack. “Use rock smash Geodude!” The attack got Treeko. It wasn’t that badly injured though. "Use absorb again Treeko!" This time, the attack didn't miss it. Geodude fell down, injured, while Treeko fell more restored....................
