thats a har question to answer, pokerus doubles ev points gained during battle " just as the macho brace does"

if ur ev training and you suddenly catch pokerus it can be annoying having to quickly calculate the changes, however for most users pokerus is a good thing.

how it is caught is pretty much random, everytime you battle a pokemon in the field there is a small chance that you will face a pokemon with pokerus and catch it, however im told that those odds are less than a shiny pokemon, so its less than 1 in 8000 aprox.

you can get it if you use a bad egg, if you travel with a bad egg in ur company and send a pokemon out to battle eventually after a few fights the pokerus will spread thru-out ur party, mind you i would advise doing this only once so that one pokemon has it, as soon as you have one keep the bad egg in the pc or delete it"see pokemon maker thread for deleting eggs"

the reason you want that out of ur party is rumour has it if a bad egg hatches it can have undesirable effects, such as erasing ur game, ive never had my bad egg move from "what will hatch from this> it will take along time" message, however that may not mean anything.

ok pokerus doesn't spread once the infected pokemon is in the box, it in essence keeps the pokemons condition in limbo, so there fore you can use it to spread the disease to other pokemon, if you don't put an infected pokemon back in the box but leave it in ur party it will cure itself in 2 days " i belive its 2 days it might even be 1"

when that happens the pokerus status will go leaving a small dot in its place.

i belive the effort point boosting effect stays in play after its gone, but i do not know.

use pokemon maker and when ur typing in the code just make one wrong digit in the code, that will be enough to cause a bad egg.



HRBEK might know a less lengthy code to get one.

on ur pokemon's info screen it will say PKRS in a sort of purple eclipse, this indicates you have pokerus! :)

Don't forget that it is a contageous infection, so if there are any Pok'emon that you have, that you don't want to catch Pok'erus, keep them away from ones that do have it.

yes very much so, and do remember it doesn't spread whilst in the PC, it has to be in ur active party, however if you still feel uneasy just keep it in a spare box :)

I got pokerus legally in my Japanese Emerald.
The cool thing is, if you give it a Macho Brace while it has Pokerus, the EVs are quadrupled. :)

if you have pokerus on one game can you trade it to another or will it go away

yes you can trade it, jsut remember if you leave an infected pokemon in ur party pokerus will go in 1 or 2 days " i forget which" at which point it will no longer infect other pokemon, so you may want to keep it in a box when it has infected pokemon, that way you can keep it.

um yes you can get it with PM select the pokerus toggle to has, don't select had or else that pokemon wont be able to get it

and no to ur second question, using items on it or healing it at a pokemon centre will not remove pokerus :)

I don't bother with that. I create all of my pok'emon with Max Stats and have them on Lv100, lol.

pokerus does go and it leaves a dot next to the Lv on ur pokemon screen to indicate that it has had pokerus.

so, Pokemon with Pokerus grows very well, right? meaning, if a pokemon has Pokerus, its stat will increase, correct?

half right, the pokerus only doubles EV points gained, much like the macho brace, its useful for ev training lets say you were fainted a crobat thats 3 ev speed gained normally , with pokerus and macho brace its 12!

which speeds up training no end :)
