ok i have just listed a couple of methods people use for catching legend pokemon "mewtwo, deoxys, articuno etc"

im curious how many of you use techniques like these.
if you have alternates please list :)

i discount the masterball method as that isn't always a viable option, it also has no skill :P

1.sword dance/false swipe
2. toxic/burn etc
3. as many ultra balls as money can buy

i wouldnt recomend useing a move that inflicts burn, poison, etc. because it will faint the pkmn if you dont catch it in time. use a status like paralize, sleep, or freeze.

Yeah a move that inflicts paralysis would be better.

Thanks,

I use all of those I buy tons of ultra balls great balls and poke balls (you never know I caught Articuno and Mewtwo with great balls in LG). Then paralysd it because they can wake up anytime or defrost. I only recently started using false swipe though because theres hardly any pokemon can learn it.

i caught my articuno without any status and without any HP reduction on my 3rd ultra ball!

yet once i took 15 ultra balls to catch a level 12 meowth LOl

don't you just love these games?

Yeah there brilliant sometimes its really annoyin when you have your best pokemon with you and you come accross a rare enough pokemon you realy need but one attack will beat it and an ultra ball wont catch it on its own

I cuaght my friends Groudon in a pokeball, my rayquaza in an ultra ball on my first throw, and I think I got three shakes with a pokeball when I was trying to catch one of my friends regi's.

every pokemon u catch is luck and there is no skill at all

deoxys

depends how you define skill, your right the actuall catching of a pokemon is totally down to luck, however there are ways of increasing your luck,

getting a pokemon down to red, maybe even getting it down to 1 HP without it fainting, making sure the thing doesn't flee.

thats where the skill is, oh and those things also bring your "luck" up, and as we all know luck is what is needed to catch a pokemon

my best method is to wait alot of turns while weakening it then use a timer ball thats how i caught my groudon

deoxys

yes timer balls are quite worth their weight in gold for instances such as this, i remember when i first caught kyogre it was with timer balls , lol the amount of times i was calm minding just to get the move count up lol

timer balls are good to have around when you run out of ultra balls great balls etc.... its good to always have one handy i usually use a ton of ultraballs while weakening the opponent then i paralize it then if i didnt catch it yet i use a timer ball

Well, the best way is(it may work with any pokeball) in gameboy any version, just hold the right arrow and press B repeatedly or vice versa

lol you can't count the pokemon caught using a master ball as that will never fail.

yes but im talking about ways which force people to use that now redundant soft thing between their ears, using the masterball requires absolutely no skill.

lol if we are playing a game of semantics " and i think judging by your post we are" then the masterball method is impossible/very difficult for catching LEGENDS " note the plural " as you only get one masterball, unless of course you find trying to score lucky on the lillycove lotto a good a time consuming method :)
