ok i thought it would be good to start a list that compiles the annoying qualities of the pokemon games " of which there are many"

ill start the list with this!


LACK OF PP UPS/ pp MAX


go into battle tower and EVERY pokemon has EVERY move PP maxed out, if you didn't cheat via a action replay etc you would never be able to find/buy enough to actually compete withthem!



its outrageous, and on that ntoe why can't you buy them? are they a pokemon controlled subsance?

or is it yet ANOTHER method gamefreak has for making an overwise brilliant game mediocre?

Battle tower. I had a level 91 golduck. The rest of my poke's were around 70 sumthin. EVERY pokemon I battled was level 91. Even after golduck lost. It wasn't fair./ Random battles when you don't want em'/ No random battles when you do want em/ Missingno messing up your hall of fame (actually sometimes it can be interesting........)/ Professer birch and prof elm

You should've known that in the Battle Tower all of your opponent's Pokémon are in the level of your highest leveled Pokémon, that's why you have to train them all evenly.

No, that's absolutely correct. It is the "placement berry" to the E-card berries.

lack of tm's, again this is noticable if you battle in the battle frontier, or battle tower of R/S come to think of it.

sometimes you will find ur opponents pokemon may share a move, take psychic for instance, yet this is another example in reality TM's are quite scarce, you can buy a few from the lillycove shop and the market place in slateport, but really its beyond a joke.


oh and another couple of things, why are trainers allowed to use articuno, regice etc? surely isn't that your " players privalge?" these are meant to be semi-legends yet every trainer has one! only one word for this

lol ur gonna think me crazy but actually i quite like the rarity of pokemon! :O i actually enjoy hunting rare ones lol, it makes it kinda close and in step with nature, also it gives a bit of variety.


having said that chansey is a pain in the grass, it took me 4 hours in safari zone to catch one i wanted, i think i caught 5.


and the only reason i didn't breed was because it takes 10,000 + to hatch a chansey lol that takes forever :(

I remember you told me where to catch Chansey. Level 40 it turned into Blissey. Lol I used a potion even if it lost 1 HP, so It would like me. Its hard to evolve Chansey.

I had to raise a Golbat to Lv81 before it evolved into Crobat, lol. That was in Silver Version though.

lol actually you know chansey is one of the easiest of the happiness pokemon to evolve, it has a base happiness of 140 and i believe it needs 220 out of a maximum 255 to evolve into blissey.

didn't want to post this in a seperate thread but one of my hopes for diamond and pearl is an alternate chansey evolution, with say the defense and sp. defense stats inversed, and using mirror coat instead.

i hate in fire red leaf green how you can not just get a tm anymore in order to get mega punch mega kick and other tms you have to go to a man and he teaches it to your guy which means you can not just use a tm whenever you want it you have to hunt the guy down and find him ahhhhhhhhhhhh i hate it i also hate the dumb tickets at the nintendo events. i also hate how they give the japanese everything like in the red and blue they made a way to get mew in japan but in america they removed mew and replaced it with a stinkn glitch missingno and m (either that or a beta test pokemon) i dont know but i hope that in this next game they wont discriminate against other countrys ( no offence to japanese people) i also hope the touch screen you choose a move and i hope that you could control pokemon. it would make it much more interesting if you could dodge the move and attack( like run up and use the move or aim a thunder instaid of just putting a certain accuracly on it ) it would make it much more fun and much more challenging. i also hate how they keep making new evolutions and pre evolutions can they ever think of anythig new!!!!!!! i also hate the limit of items you can hold i think its a pain to put items in the pc to pick up new items i usualy use up an item just to pick up another it should be like pokemon and just be sent to the pc

oh i forgot i hate how all of the ledgendarys have the same effect and that effect really isnt that good

true both moves pretty suck lol

however on ur point about wanting more control over dodging attacks, personely i feel that would hidner the game, two reasons.

1. the computer will dodge an attack better than any human could period, and you know gamefreak the chances are they will lol

2. you won't have as much time to think tactics, combos, if you trying to make sure you have to manually aim, dodge an attack, it would make moves like mind reader, double team kinda' obsolete.


yes isn't it annoying why items aren't sent to ur pc!, its just stupid.

in the first games mega punch and mega kicck are powerful but there are also other moves that people have to teach your pokemon. i personally think you should have more controll over the game and you could set the battle difficulty to easy medium or hard hard getting you the most experience of corse

There are so many new moves that leave Mega Punch and Mega Kick for dead. Dynamicpunch is one. I use that all the time.

yeah but if you could have items battles would take a bloody lifetime lol, also your opponent would also be allowed items so it would kinda cancel itself out.

besides half the fun with battle tower is deciding which items to give ur pokemon, it creates a better sence of tactics and strategy.

The elite 4's inf. # of hyper potions...... You get their pokemon down to 1 health......... Elite 4 trainer uses hyper potion! They are fully restored.... The kill your pokemon....

You: Really strong pokemon- Half Health
Them: Not as strong, but still strong pokemon- 1 HP
Narrarator: Elite four trainer uses hyper potion!
Them: Full HP
You: $*it
Them: Ultimate Attack that I don't even have!
Narrarator: Your Pokemon Fainted!
You: $*it!

Also, how in the show all pokemon already know all of their attacks but on the game they can only know 4.

lol yes the amount of full restores the elite 4 have on emerald is mind boggling, also the amount of focus bands lol, as their pokemon will almost always be left with 1 hp

send out a level 100 gyarados dragon dance 5 times, use aeroblast just for the hell of it, and low and behold it goes critical and super effective yet elite four drake used full restore lol

m i agree with you there that really sux, i had a starmie once i evolved to quickly so i thought oh never mind ill just take it to the move tutor lol, little did i realise that it wouldn't let me learn the attacks unless my actual one had learnt them in the past!

Yeah, I haven't played my sapphire game in forever but now i started it up and i'm at new mauville. (WAAAAAAAAAAY too many wild poke's in there. You can't go 5 steps without running into one!)

i put speech marks because you don't actually need to do it, but if you want to battle watson again he will need to be in his gym and he only returns there after new mauville " ps i can't stand new mauville lol"

so it seems to me gamefreak are saying yes its a remake but with added parts.

this is all good and proper, however why not keep the mach bike? and the better graphics from ruby/sapphire? liek the water effects.

also why not allow berry growing?

it seems to me that these games could of been made far more on par with ruby/sapphire/emerald yet still retain that feel of being a remake of the original pokemon titles.

31pkmn, I agree with you. Pikachu with maxed out Special Attack and Speed holding a Light Ball is quite deadly. Especially if it has Surf, Thunderbolt, Thunder Wave, and a filler. Uhm, maybe even Rain Dance, Thunder, Surf, and Thunder Wave.

Pikachu can have up to 436 Special Attack holding the Light Ball!

yes its really annoying, i don't understand why they just can't make it fair on both sides. some people can't afford all the titles, or don't know enough people to trade with, if you think about it completing the pokedex on ur own is almost impossible, even trading requires quite a few trades.

It takes WAY to long to get started in the game, Oak, Birch, Elm, The Other One, they all talk WAY to much! There should be a "skip annoying and/or boring toutorial" option. Of coure, it doesn't s**k TOO much unless ur a noob on the game. It DOES s***w with your ability to trade starters into a newer game 2 get all of them!!!!!!!:mad:
