the text needs to stand out a bit more..
maybe a sort of red overlay around it to make it like a bloody look..
and the blood around the outside annoys me slightly.. the bevel on it..
i think that the tpe of blood look you are using, doesnt quite go with the background.. it needs a bit more of a 'brushed-on' look, as opposed to a blob or puddle.

try putting the blood on with no bevel or shadows used, change the blending option to overlay, and get a soft eraser and go around the outside and maybe a bit in the middle.
you might want to change the opacity too..
