Nintendo has confirmed that its next generation console will include a play control system allowing parents to impose limitations on games with more adult content. Meaning a password-controlled setting will be included in every Revolution unit so that adults can decide which games are deemed suitable for younger gamers even though most Nintendo games are appropriate for all ages!
The technology will follow the PEGI age rating system in Europe, meaning the level of protection will include the five current age bands, 3+, 7+, 12+, 16+ and 18+.
When I read that today in the Business news mag I was almost laughing at the thought... put it this way. Could you really see your mother trying to turn on the machine and use that TV remote they call a controller for this thing? I doubt my mother could ever fiqure it out let alown turn the thing on lol
I dont see anyway in which parental controls would really make a big diffrence unless ya parents could fiqure it out. + the only 15+ rated game I know off for Nintendo is there Resident Evil games, the rest are kiddy games which is why I never bothered with the GameCube.. meh

Well, hopefully we won't have to deal with the same amount of "kiddy" games this time around and they really give the system something great to play.

I see it as more of a useless feature, but there always those overprotective parents ......
my parent would reall give a flying f*** of what games that i buy that is not for my age since they HAVE to buy it for me.

How Stupid. Why put parental control? besides Violence is good for little kiddys. :P
^ ROFLMAO
Damn straight it is. It only teaches them to kill others with big knifes. :D
if there was no violence, how ciould we learn the abc's. A is for Alan who i killed yesterday, B is for Berry who will die today. C is for Chris who i shiot last week...

Lol, yeah. My mom doesn't care what kinda games I play. If I can play GTA, I can sure as he** play Resident Evil without stupid, ret*rded parental controls!!! (Plus, my mom only knows how to work the PS2, anyway. :P)

didnt they just make it that you need identification to get higher rated games?
over here, or.. in this general area at leat, you need id to get MA15 and R18 rated games anyway unless it was obvious you were older than those ages..
geh.. passworded things piss me off
