Super Mario 64 - I need help!

We bought this game for my daughter, and we're stuck! We are on the first challenge - we have been able to collect 7 of the 8 red stars. We can see the 8th star on the "floating island" next to the moutain, but can't figure out how to get to it. We have tried the long jump, but can't get there. One of the signs said there is a red winged cap, but can't find it either! What do we need to do.......!

Near to where you start, there is a tree with a yellow coin on top, climb up the tree and an owl/bird will pop out! talk to the bird and ride to the red coin...

Is the coin near like.. a series of floating circles? near a floating arrow? if so, then follw my tip ;)

this question is for anyone who has it.............is it simialar to the original n64 verison casue i am thinking about getting it and i am trying to decide

it's the same game with some extra levels and you can play as yoshi mario wario and luigi once you unlock them
its pretty fun

I am not in whomps fortress ..... haven't even gotten there yet. I have just jumped through the first painting (bob-ombs). There are no trees with coins above them. I can find 8 red stars, but can only obtain 7. There is a gold star behind bars behind the chain-chomp. The 8th star is on a "floating island" next to the moutain, above the first flower garden to the right. Can't get there, though! HELP!!!

I answered your question in the other thread. I gave you an easier way of doing it. Whomp's Fortress is a two star room, I belive.


I now belive this should be closed by the staff person who mods this forum (if there is one...?).

Good stuff Fire Element Lord. This thread doesn't really need closing........ Just to be sure, did you tell him that he had to get the Pink Bob-omb to open the cannon?
