Newbie Looking for New Games

I'm new here, so I thought I'd introduce myself. My name is Eric, and I must confess, I'm not the hard-core gamer I once was, but I want to get back into it, and I thought that it would help to get involved in a gamer community.

This place looks pretty cool. I've also checked out some other communities. I'm not sure yet which one I'll call home, but MyGamer.com is giving away an XBox 360 to one of their regular members (http://mygamer.com/index.php?page=articles&mode=viewarticles&id=238), so I'll probably hang out a bit there and try my luck. =)

I'm living in the dark ages as far as games are concerned. My favorite is still QuakeIII, but I really want to get into a more social game -- maybe an MMO I don't have to invest tons of time in to have fun with. I'm open to suggestions.

Welcome then Eric, uhhm. To get to your questions.

MMO's you don't have to spend a lot of time with. Well it all depends on what system you want to play it on. But i'd say most MMO(especially MMORPG's) you do spend a lot of time with.

Quake III is still a good game, it's a lot better then IV anyway, one of the best FPS still.

I really can't start naming games, especially since you didn't mention what system you meant.

u can play age of kings on the Conquerors
but all those games uses a computer

Yeah, as Cid said, Quake III is still an excellent game, especially online. Very frantic. If you're still into great PC FPS's like Quake III, I would reccomend the following (for single and online play):

Half-Life
Half-Life 2
Counter-Strike/Counter-Strike: Source
F.E.A.R.
The Specialists (though, you need Half-Life to play this; it's a mod, but a pwnage one)
Unreal Tournament 2004
