on my laptop, i have the one screen monitor thing, as all laptops do..
the settings in display, though, seem to think otherwise. the laptop seems to think that there are two monitors connected to it. that is, and extra monitor and the original one.
this is quite bothersome, but i can live with it.. its just that the pointer seems to get lost over on the non-existant second monitor.
ive tried pretty much all that i can think of to get it to work right again, but it doesnt seem to want to work. there isnt actually a setting there to get it back to just one screen o_O
but.. yeah.. its quite annoying, but i dont know how much of this post is actually understandable, so .. yeah..?
eh, for those that might understand or have any idea of what im talking about, would you be able to help me at all, please? =)

Hmmmm, so your laptop thinks there is 2 monitors set up, strange. If its Windows XP I know a place that you can change the monitor setting for single screen or more. Right-Click the desktop, so you go to display properties,go to setting, at the bottom you will see "Advanced", click advanced, click on the displays tab, & it will have a thing about your monitor. I'm not really sure at what to do after that part....see if its on the setting, "Defalt Single Display."

yeah, ive tried that -_-
tried it again though, closest thing to 'display properties' was display modes, and properties.. display modes didnt do anything =P so i went to properties > settings > advanced.. but there isnt any display tab, and what there thats close to it doesnt have anything apart from changing the DPI -_-

Your doing things right but I dont think your noticing the other 10 tabs that appear on that DPI sceen popup box thing. Find the one that says monitor and change that to "default" Might already be default if that doesn't work, request for remote assistant via activities on MSN or MSN Live or what ever your using when we are both online. Sure I can fix it for ya, its just finding what has changed on your system.

ive noticed the tabs, im not that bad.. im really quite good with computers, just this one doesnt have the other setting =P
theres two settings it has.. it asks if there are two monitors, both being the same size.. or if one is a damn lot bigger than the other.
but yeah, you fix it if ya need to.. youll have to wait though 'cause im having some problems with viruses going through the network.. dont need to infect you too =P
(and no, this whole thing isnt a virus.. ive scaned it twice already, one scan being in safe mode~_~)

I have two sugesstions.. One is a smart one.. The second one... You'll probably kill me for it.
1-Right click on desktop > Properties > Settings > Choose the 2nd monitor and check the 2nd box > Go back to the first monitor. Problem solved.
2-If the first option doesn't work, you can always sell your computer to some n00b for enough to buy a new one. Then when you buy a new one, laugh at the n00b saying, "Ha, I pwned you! Stupid n00b." ^.^'
Just a suggestion... Don't yell at me for the second one...-_-

Don't worry, my pointer gets lost off the side of the screen sometimes. My mouse sticks out on the side though because I have a katana as a pointer.

this isnt sticking to the side though =P
its going through it
edit: fixed the problem o_O
somehow the gmail window was sholved over off the screen. i didnt think that was possible to have happen, but it opens up at start-up so thats prolly why it always was like that..
was just clicking as dragging nothingness off the side thing and the gmail window came over with a drag (that sounds weird XD), now i cant put it back nor move the pointer out of sight.
all i can really say is 'what the fυck was it doing there, and how did it get there?' o_O
