i was wondering is spybot was a good anti-spyware?

and if not could someone tell me a good free one?

Spybot Search and Destroy is a good anti-spyware proggy along with Spyware blaster... these to combined should keep the rubbish out!

Download.com might have both the files... (freeshare/free versions)

It is good, but I'd use something else ( firewall and antivirus) simlpy because Trojan got through my Spybot before, and it is a pain in the ass retrieving all your files though MS-DOS and then formatting....trust me, I've had to do it 3 times in the space of 2 years

oh yeah, back up all your files every single month, to a CDRW and keep it safe. Don't back up any music, it's a waste of space in back-ups.
My advice is to also de-frag your computer just after you back-up (or before, whichever, but around the same time is a good idea) that way you get eveything done at once
