Free tutorials?

Is there any free tutorials I can use to make my own sig and avatar cause my mom and dad dont feel like paying just for this kind of stuff. Thanks if you could post a link to somewhere here. :-)

1. If you want an easy-to-use avatar / signature maker, why not try standart Windows app called Paint

2. If you want to create avatar or signature from video clip (avi, wmv, etc..)

3. If you want a professional one - Adobe Photoshop is your best bet

yeah but he said tutorials so it really depends on the program you are using. for photoshop i always go to

then make sure to click on the photoshop link

but like what was said before, paint will get you started, very basic and ugly, but it's what i started with.
