I played the Wii at the store. (I had to give the guy at the counter my driver's liscense so he would give me the controller, seeing as how they're motion sensing and not steal proof and all.)

I played Excitetruck. That alone sent me over the edge. I need a Wii. NOW. It's great.

yeah i did that at a gamestop near me, its really fun but im gonna wait to get one, probably until after christmas to see if the price oes down and see how much christmas money i get, then me and my brother are going to split it

My advice is visit other game forums and look at what people who have one are saying about there own. A few disappointed fan boys me thinks... ah well.

Graphics Really Do Matter

What defines "good graphics" is admittedly subjective and the level of visual quality expected by today's consumer is equally hard to gauge. However, when dealing with the next generation of consoles, a good percentage of consumers will look for something that "wows" them—sorry, Mr. Iwata, but we just haven't had the urge to say "wow." Many consumers want to have a console with graphics that will not only impress them, but also their friends and family. They want their new console to be a centerpiece for their home theater system. When looking for a showcase system like this, consumers aren't likely to pick up the Wii.

Now, Wii games certainly don't look bad; in fact, by current-gen standards they look quite decent. However, when compared to the top 360 and PS3 titles, especially on an HDTV, the Wii is blown out of the water. Games like Gears of War and Heavenly Sword absolutely pop and the Wii just doesn't have the CPU and GPU power to match that.

Its a good read apart from the first part about the lack of games which is pointless as the console has only just been born... time will tell.

I got one and it pwns all systems. I check nintendo and sony forums and i see way mroe complaints in sony forums. Like how the PS3 shuts off without saving once it overheats. The wii mosts erious thing is "Wii Elbow" but that only goes to the lazy out of shape gamers.

The message: Be careful kiddy's :P I must say I'm impressed with the E-mail response from Nintendo about the snapping strap. Thats good customer support that is, you wouldn't see Microsoft or Sony doing anything like that for free. It was the same with the cracking on the DS Lites, they replaced them free of charge and addressed the matter quickly.

The PS3 has problems with it components, which sony didn't tell us about. obviously they programmed the system to shut off when it overheated so it wouldnt blow up and take out and entire city (ps3 weighs over 7 pounds). so instead it shuts off w/o saving. i'm gonna check sony boards again to see of anything else

Lol, you'd need about $900-$1000 to get both. And I doubt you have even $600. Anyway, back on topic, the Wii looks awesome, I tried it, they had this Samurai game, it was awesome, so I put it on my Christmas List for the extended family.

Actually I don't know if this might be one of those 'The older one is better' things because the s*it music makes it look rubish. Although that's the only reason it puts me off. But if the music is actually quite good and not all 'The godfather' ish then...

I never said I was getting the PS3 one day, then the Wii the next. I live in a d*mn apartment, so I wouldn't even have the money to get both within 2 days! Why do you think I have very little games?
