Sony has at last set the date and price of the Playstation 3
As previously revealed at E3 2006, the console will retail for 599 euros (approximately $777) in Europe, but it will fetch £425 ($836) in the UK, AUD999.95 ($781) in Australia, and NZ1199.95 ($840) in New Zealand. To compare, the same model of the console retails for $599 in the US.
Which ever way you look at it, the UK, Oz and New Zealand are getting ripped off as its cheaper in the USA. I wont be getting one until I see Gran Turismo 5 in store and the console has dropped in price. Oh and people with a High Definition TV like me will have to shell out further money on a component cable because Sony are not including them in the packs apparently unlike M$ who did.
