Chris Benoit, family found dead
Written: June 25, 2007World Wrestling Entertainment is deeply saddened to report that today Chris Benoit and his family were found dead in their home. There are no further details at this time, other than the Benoit family residence is currently being investigated by local authorities.

Tonight’s Raw on USA Network will serve as a tribute to Chris Benoit and his family. WWE extends its sincerest thoughts and prayers to the Benoit family’s relatives and loved ones in this time of tragedy.


This is just horrible news. He wasn't at Vengence last night because he had to fly back to Georgia because he had a family emergency. Sad, sad, day for professional wrestling.

All of RAW will be a Beniot Tribute Show.

There is quite a bit of confusion over this on another Wrestling forum i browse. Most people reckon it could be a storyline, like it could of been the guy who "Killed" Vince, and going down that storyline. But if its true, it is a very sad day for WWE, he was one of the best wrestlers. And one of my favs.

Chris Benoit and his wife and child; Nancy and Daniel were all found dead earlier today at his home, it's being investigated by authorities so its the read deal!
Vince is on RAW and given up his "death storyline" for the night i guess unless he sees no reason to carry on with it.

Absolutely shocking and upsetting news.

On some news site, they said the death is now a suspect of Homicide.

Aswell, ive heard somwhere that John Hennigan (Nitro) has been pull in for questioning.

According to ABC News, they have now pointed out the likely cause of death to a Double Murder Suicide. Its on WWE.com too.

It is a terrible shame. But ABC hasnt released detail on who did the murdering, was it Chris or his wife?

I read new details on WrestleZone that authorities say that Benoit killed his wife saturday (when this mess all started), his son sunday, and he killed himself today. But he doesnt seem like a person who would do that. I bet the murderer is framing him to make it seem like he did it

I don't believe this. Chris Beniot is a good man, I actually cried when I was getting ready to watch Raw and laugh with my family at the fake McMahon death. Then I saw the Chris Beniot opening thing, and I screamed out...NO!.

It's tragic, one of my favorite wrestlers. He couldn't have done this, and if I did, He HAD to have been in a wrong state of mind, basically, I would plead Insanity. Here is what doesn't make sense though, they say He strangled his wife Friday, then shortly after Smothered his Son, then, on Saturday, he Hanged himself. BUT, records showed that he ordered VENGENCE at his home. Which, apparently, aired on SUNDAY. People can't order PPV's a day early.

I don't by Double Homicide- Suicide.


Chris Beniot will always be in my heart, and the hearts of thousands of others. WWE will never be the same.

no dude, he did strangle his wife and smother his son but he did that on either saturdey or sundey, then he killed himself on monday, thats when the bodies were found... comcast.net (my homepage) said that he did strangle his wife and smother his son but the investigators believe that he was in a mood called "roid rage" which involves steroids... which causes depression, anger and some other stuff i cant remember, lol... but yes dude, as sad as it makes me too, he did do this, i guess cause of steroids, i dunno man, im sad that he did this but it pisses me off too... but yes, im glad hes gone if hes done this...

I watched the whole News report this morning. The Anchor either couldn't read the teleprompter, or, everything was backed a day. I swear I heard them right, Friday and Saturday. Chances are it was Roid Rage, but the Police said they wont be sure untill a couple of weeks.

If it was Roid Rage, that will make me feel MUCH better because it's something they can't control. I believe WWE makes people use Steroids to attract fans somehow. Bigger Muscles = Bigger attraction? Eddie Guerrero = Was on Steroids, and I'm pretty sure a lot of still living superstars are using Steroids, like Batista, he's definetly got some Steroids growing on him.

My Mom's boyfriend can confirm it. He knows what it's like, he was a Pro Wrestler himself a while back. He was the "Nuclear Assassin" for a while. Then became the Ring Announcer for RMCW. He's got major connections.

Here is a better article. But I read that he strangled his wife saturday. Then smothered his son sunday most likely night time. and then killed himself a few hours later on monday. They say he was watching vengeance. They found steroids at his house and alot of meds. I say only insanity would cause hoim to do this

Benoit was one of the only really big wrestlers(that are not dumb) from Canada, and i respect him for that, but killing your family? whats up with that!
