I am having the following problem with a controller.

I can't test with another controller, cause I currently only have 1.

When I start a game, I can navigate through the menu's, no problem. But, when I start to play, and I tried this with Wii sports and Boogie, the buttons A and B work, but the Wii does not respond to my movement with the controller.

I think I have to call Nintendo tomorrow, and if they can't fix it, I probably end up returning it to the store. The batteries are fine, I even tried to resync the controller, but it does not solve my problem. I scrubbed Google pretty hard, but I could not find any solution.

The odd thing is, the first 3/4 weeks it was working fine, and I did not change anything to my setup and I cannot think of any interference as well, maybe caused by another device.

I'll post a solution to my problem here, once it is solved, if it gets solved. :D

hmmm
is it the pointer (can u navigate the wii menue) or the accelerometer(tilt sensor) thats giving u trouble
cause if its the pointer then ur sensor bar may be screwed

try tweaking the sensitivity to see if that works

Sell your Wii for some 360 games, problem solved ;)

Nah, but I don't think it's fixable Genie, if it was, I'm sure you would have had tons of google hits on it.

I also suggest just returning it or calling Nintendo

You should probably just go to a gamestop and trade it in for a new one if they will do that. They probably will if you just tell them the problem with it.

I tried that too, but it does not help.

Yes, I can navigate through all the menu's, both the Wii system menu and Game menu's. The Wii browser I ordered for 500 Wii points is nice, and it works without problems, I also connected the Wii through my encrypted Wireless Access point, no problems at all.

The problem rises when I say: Ok, now I want to play my game. In Wii sports Tennis for example, I press A and the ball gets thrown up, but when I swing with the Wii mote, nothing happens. Same with the other Wii Sports games, and Boogie has the same problem, in the menu's the Wii mote works fine, even the movement works, but when I start to play the game, it stops responding.

Yeah, LOL. I don't think my kids will be happy when I make that move. I actually like the Wii myself, but this controller screwup is pretty bad.

Yeah, well, I'm first going to call Nintendo, see if they have a solution. If not, I am going to return it.

I did found a story through Google, that matches my problem, but I could not see any solution at all. I did found many many stories of people having problems with this controller.

Ok, well I just called Nintendo in Holland.

The tech guy on the phone told me there are multiple sensors in the Wii controller, and the one for movement in-game is not working. He told me to send it to the main office department of Nintendo, and I will probably get a new one or they will fix it. So I am heading to the post office to send it, and getting a new controller cause my kids can't wait until it gets back. Thanks everyone for your input.

Sorry to hear that Genie, if I had an extra one, I would get it to you in less than a week.

I got the broken controller back. Nintendo reported there was nothing wrong with it. I tested it, and it works again. Well, I am pretty much left in the dark now. But, it still works after three days. I also got the new controller I ordered 4 weeks ago. So I am a happy camper now. :D

Great work man. I just wish I had a partner to fight against rather than the cp all the time. My skills are too good to waste I tell thee.
