Why is it enabled in the first place.... Anyway.

Start a DVD, bring up the menu with the select button, and then go to Setup. It's in there. To get it to actually save, eject and take out the DVD (kicking it back to the setup screen) before you turn the power off.

Hope it works, never had the problem my self.

yeah for some reason when i bought the mashugena thing it had the parental controls turned on. it's one of the new anorexic ps2's so that may be why. but anyway, i did all the stuff you told me, going to setup and such, and when i get to the part that has parental controls, the words "parental controls" are white instead of blue, and i can't edit anything. i mean it's not a major hassle to put in the password everytime i want to watch a non-g movie, but i'd still like to fix this problem.

hmm *searches google* this is the result:

In order for u to completely disable the parental controls you have enter the password BUT after that u MUST stop the movie! Hit the select button and you should be able to see the parental controls there. NOW you will be able to high light it and select the leve u want- (off being all the way at the top of the list)

So in short-if u want to change any custom options with the DVD player u have to stop the movie in order to access them.
hope that helped and if it didnt then let me know.

The other option is to unplug the PS2 for around 72hours so it "forgets" but I don't know if that works....

That's the default password. I'm not shure how to change it, though it does always make you punch one in. If it's not preset as the password, people usaully don't give a bonk and punch it in anyway...

Ever heard of "security", people?

i couldn't care less about security. I don't want a machine to have a say in wether or not I can watch a certain dvd! we let that happen pretty soon it'll be the Terminator only for real this time!
