She's one of my best friends. There's been so many things on the news about it and every time I come close to crying. I was getting called yesterday during class but because it was during class I couldn't pick up, so I messaged them asking what they were calling me for and her mum replied telling me that Megan was in a coma with a shattered leg, broken arm and a lot of brain bruising.
It's so sad, but all of her friends including myself know that she's a fighter and will be able to get though this, but for the while we're all a bunch of worried messes waiting for her to be able to see visitors. She's an only child and has always called me her big sister to which I tell her she's my little sister.
This article's the only one that I can find apart from ones in the newspaper, but she had the green to cross the road and the woman in the car went through a red light.
A TEENAGE girl is fighting for her life in hospital after she and her pet dog were run down while walking along a Gold Coast street last night. The dog died.
The 15-year-old is the third pedestrian run down by a car on the Gold Coast in 24 hours.
Yesterday, Southport State High Year 11 student Jye Strong was killed and a mate critcally injured when they were hit by a car while walking on a street in labrador. A 35-year-old woman has been charged over that incident.
The girl was walking with her dog in her home suburb of Biggera Waters last night when she was struck by a 4WD just before 7.30pm.
The dog died a short time later while the girl was taken to the Gold Coast Hospital where she remains in a critical condition.
She had been crossing at the traffic light-controlled intersection of Hollywell Rd and Burrows St when she was struck.
It remains unclear who, if anyone, was at fault over the crash.
The forensic crash unit is investigating.
