IRC Chat?

Yeah, in my complete boredum and.. well, boredum, I created an IRC channel. If anyone wants to join it, I have a link to a Java IRC webchat that you can use.

We're on the server dreamlight.zapto.org in #cheatingdome. And here's the basic instructions on how to get there.

1. Click the link above. Easy, right?
2. Enter a nickname in the box provided and click the button below.
3. Type /server dreamlight.zapto.org once everything is done loading.
4. You will be taken to the channel where you'll be allowed to talk and such. :3

So.. have fun! There's no specific rules for the chat itself (though I'd like you to be nice and courteous to each other xD), but I'd like it if you'd be nice to the channel ops and stuff. After all, I don't want to get in trouble for something you guys do. :3 If you have any problems or questions, just post here and I'll answer your question. :D

Oh that nub, he's prob playig WoW or another comp game. I talked to him AIM a couple days ago. He is active but he doesn't post a lot.

Its been tried a fair few times, once by myself but never got off the ground because the majority of users found it too complex or would rather just use MSN. Personally I wouldn't put a games related channel on Freenode, I would choose either Quakenet or the network I run a server on which is Leapnode, or even perhaps EnterTheGame. If you want to try it properly again then you may find it would be a good idea to have a non-installed client such as Mibbit sorted somewhere.

Well, the channel isn't on Freenode; it's on a different server called Dreamlight. =/ But when I'm online, I'm always on there, so I'm up for helping people out with using IRC. =)

Haha, yeah. I had one of my friends help me set it up. =) Doesn't do anything but voice and op. =/ I might have someone drag in their bot. [Maybe LightRai - the guy who set up the topic.]

Ya serebii has one integrated into their main site but I think it can be done to our forums or main site. It would relieve that hassle of having to come to this thread, click link etc. If its on the site all we do is click the button and it loads up

TL, Inferno, and TLM are the same person.

Anyway, Genie could set up a java chat and then register a room with rizon.com/.net (IIRC, it's free.) I could set up a registered one if you want me to.

Take a look at www.mibbit.com its a cool little web IRC client that doesnt need flash or java, its fully xhtml and javascript. Also if you have your own website you can use a widget.

xD Maybe it's just me, but liek.. It's not going to Dreamlight's server [the actual server that the chat I made is on.] ._.

The server is on irc.freenode.net
For some reason, you registered on irc.netsplit.de (or whatever it is)

But if I connect to your chat and then use this one which is connected to irc.freenode.net they end up in the same room, meaning that it's on freenode. It's the right server.

I registered the channel itself on Dreamlight. Not Freenode or any other server. the channel that I registered with lol bot [haha, funny name for a bot. i know.] is on Dreamlight. =/

Felly, the link you originally posted sent us to a page with a client that connects to the Freenode network, I just tried it and found that I couldnt use my nickname as im already connected. I can't find any info on a IRC network called Dreamlight anywhere on the net, and no one has ever heard of it (not too unusual for tiny little one server networks.).

I am now sat in the channel on both Freenode and Quakenet.

You have to type in /server dreamlight.zapto.org and it takes you there. The link that I originally posted works just fine when I type in /server dreamlight.zapto.org. =/ It takes me straight to the server. I tested it and everything.
