From XEROX's GUI, to Nintendo's little WiiPeople, its brilliant.

Like wtf is the new dashboard about at all, it's simply Microsofts take on Apple's work, as are the Avatars which are a total joke. Embarassing.

I for one like the new dashboard. Also I think the look that the avatars is what Nintendo shouldve done then add in all the customization of the mii's. Either way the Avatar's are still much better then the much to realistic Home people.

Oh don't get me wrong, it looks great, but why cant they just come up with their own stuff :D

I read recently that Microsoft wanted the Xbox to be a gaming console so exclusively that USB keyboards and USB mice wont actually work on it, is that true?

If it is, I think it's madness! why wouldn't they want to convert it to a multimedia hub eventually!

But if you look at it avatars like these were used by Yahoo , THe SIms, etc way before this gen. Also I think the Avatars are a mix of Mii's and Home people. They have the realistic person look but still dont seem too realistic. That is why I dont like the Home people, they are just too realistic for me.

Anyways I doubt that they would say that. Microsoft's plan from the start was to make the 360 your main media hub that you could do basically anything on.

wohoo more posts!

Good point bout the avys!

Ya I'm assuming im wrong bout the USB thing, it wouldn't make sense at all! I'd like to see the consoles become more multimedia Hubbish, but then your talking to someone without broadband (yep) so for me it's not, but for most you can probably achieve that.

I'd like to see them pushing wireless keyboards more for both systems with a pad on it for mouse (like laptop), or a thumbsitck on the keyboard somewhere for movement. And actually making them hubs, like better wireless two way connectivity to PC (dont know if this can be achieved or not?). Transmit data from PC to Xbox/PS3 and watch it on your tv. I spose you'd have to have correct formats and the like for ps3 to interpret it though. VLC for playstation??=p

At this current state I dont see that occuring. However I do see full multimedia connection coming in the next generation. Microsoft with its expanded features between the 360 and PC, the Wii with a TV Guide-esque channel that can be then watched on your wii controlled by your- wiimote and the growing casual market, and the ps3 breaking the hd glass with blu-ray certainly makes us wonder what will be achieved in the next gen. Your TV, computer, music, movies, and gaming will be possible on just one device. At least that is what I am hoping.

Tis a shame, with all the potential!

I'm not sure what step console manufacturers are gonna take the next time, like the technology used in consoles is fantastic (esp PS3 from what I've read), so does this mean replacements are going to take longer to come out? I can't see PS3 being replaced anything soon by Sony, but people are predicting a new console surge in 2010/2011, kinda surprising for me. (see: http://www.engadget.com/2008/02/14/wii-2-and-xbox-the-third-hitting-in-2010/)

Its also weird to look at the upgrades which are coming out the whole time, the top rage consoles have what? 160GB HDD? what the hell are they planning to use that for? Why not have a customisable console instead of all these new consoles? or is that too close to a PC?

2010? no but I can see the next xbox coming at least in 2011 followed by wii2 and ps4 in 2012/2013. But Sony will milk the PS3 till maybe 2018 as they plan to milk the PS2 until the PS4 comes out.

Its not about them currently milking the PS3, its that the game devs are just still making games for it!

Microsoft sucks balls, did you know once you choose your account you cant even change the country you set for your billing information, it is impossible to change, unless you delete your account and make a new one, but that's not even a real solution.

**** Microsoft, **** their propaganda to make you buy bigger harddrives for their new Xbox Live Experience ****, it ****ing sucks, and the Wiipeople were retarded and so are these! That's why I made one! To fight society, or something.

WHere did I go with this rant?

You're right. I have been rethinking my purchasing of the X-Box 360 because I know that within the next two years they are releasing their next console.

To my understanding, the PS3 has enough technology for Sony to keep it as their generation console through this next release -- meaning there will not be another system released until 4-5 years after the release of the Wii HD and whatever the new X-Box is supposed to be called.

There are many games coming through for the PS3, but I can't wait! I need games now; it is what is killing the Wii that I own for me. No games to play.

That is if Sony doesnt back out of the console market with the terrible November NPD, a month in which they thought they would boost sales. and dont worry Neto, 2009 is gonna be great for the Wii gamewise. You got The Conduit, Madworld, Sin and Punishment 2, and more that havent been announced yet.

Yes, I hear there is plenty to be released. Right now, though, the 360 has the most games that appeal to me as a consumer. I love RPGs and I have never been able to completely enjoy them since the days of SNES (having stuck with Nintendo-only consoles from then on).

Now, aside the Wii, I have a PS3 that is ruled by FPS games.
