Power Armor - Help

Ok basically very early on in the game you travel to the GNR buliding to locate the foot-steps of your dad in the process you end up helping the brotherhood of steel guys.

Anyway a few of them died and I wasn't able to carry the armor so recently (this morning actually) I returned to pick up the left overs. Its brilliant that its all still there but when I tried to wear the Armor it said some kind of training is required.

So I turn to you guys... How on earth do you train your character up to wear the power Armor gear?

UPDATE I found the answer.
In order to wear any type of power armor you must get through the main quest line up to the point where you gain access to the citadel. From there you talk to Paladin Gunny to learn to use Power Armor. This perk applies to all types of power armor.

Power Armors suck in general. However, they look extremely cool to wear in gameplay.

I'd personally just stick with Reily's Ranger Armor. :P

meh, got the training for the armor now anyway. managed to repair a lot of Encalve armor to wear.

Get the Telsa armor. Second best in the game, and pretty easy to find.

I'd go for the Prototype medic armor instead. You can repair that with brotherhood armor, or just regular power armor.

And it's an armor.. THAT CAN TALK. That's badass.

I went into the sewers of Old Oldney, killed 1,000 deathclaws, used 1,000,000 stimpacks and the damn armor wasn't there. Same thing with the alien blaster.

Really? You might have missed the armor. It's located on a dead brotherhood of steel soldier. But if you left the sewers WITHOUT the armor, you will never be able to get it again. Hopefully, you had a save in the sewers.

Btw, you should have a dart gun before you headed in Old Oldney, as those things will make Deathclaws a joke. That's why the Dart Gun is my favourite weapon (pity that it doesn't look badass).


As for the alien blaster. You get that at the alien crash site. Here's it's location.

You should get a radio signal called Recon Craft Theta Beacon. You can use that to help you find the alien's spacecraft. You'll know if your nearby when you start to get radiation in the area.

But the alien blaster's a piece of sh!t. It does kill most enemies in one hit due to it's ridiculous critical rate but it's duration is pretty weak as it'll easily break after a few shots. Plus ammunation is really hard to get and that's no good. Apparently you can get more ammo through a random event of an alien spacecraft (or.. something) exploding in the air, dropping a Firelance (Alien blaster that shoots fire) and some spare ammo nearby. But this has never happened to me before..

I went into the sewers one time before I knew what was in there and left. That Sucks. But One time I found the alien and the blaster wasn't there. Today I went again and got it.

Nah, there is more.. Just REALLY hard to get. You can get em in random encounters with a UFO (or.. somethin).

Yeah. I haven't touched the blaster yet. I'm gonna be conservative. lol

Also, there is another encounter with a UFO where you get a Flame Alien Blaster or something.

I need to kill them faster, otherwise they end up shooting me and my brotherhood follower. Might have to travel to megaton again and pick up the FATMAN and Mini Nuke ammo to waste all four of them.:D

You get the armor at a town called Old Olney. Its a little east of Vault 92. The place is dangerous as hell though. It's overrun with deathclaws. A dart gun is recommended.

I have plenty of Ammo for the Dart Gun but no gun to use it with. You'd think I'd be doing better than this seening as I have the offical Guide so I was sure not to miss the best stuff... seems the best stuff is hidden in the book eh :P

Yes good idea, might be worth setting up at some point once we have more stuff posted in here. That way just copy and paste the best parts into a sticky thread. A full Map of the Wasteland with most of the locations would be very cool if we could find one.

The dart gun is one you have to make from scratch useing randome Junk. You need the schemematics. I can't remember where I got it but I know the stuff you need.

-Poisen Scorpian Gland
-Toy car
-Darts (Of course)
-Paint Gun
-Surgical Tubing maybe?

It's not "powerful" But one tiny shot cripples both of your enemie's legs and poisens them for a short period of time.

Do you have a Shishkebob? Or any kind of sword in good condition? If you do use that instead of a gun. Use the LT to block their attacks and when they stagger back slice em up. But really get the Dart gun before you go. It makes the deathclaws fight like mole rats.

I do have a sword. Got it when I came accross the side quest for the Family and some old guy. This will be my next adventure in FALLOUT3.
