how do you get past the boxes in the old ladies house on seven island on leafgreen?

You can't... Perhaps there is a way with a code device, lol. The space behind those boxes was reserved for Mystery Gift events, but they were unsuccessful and so that section was sealed off in the American/ European versions of the game (or so I heard). In Pok'emon Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald there is a place in Mossdeep which is equally confusing (and associated with the same issue, haha).

yea, I hate when they tease you with locked rooms and then you do some research and cant get there, its like the rumor of Bill's garden and getting the hm slime and being able to capture togepi lol, its a place taht people tell you is obtainable, but really isnt

Yeh its a total rip off. You can just imagine the guy who came up with the idea. "Wait! What if we have a door that does nothing, leads nowhere, nothing. Just to annoy people." "Yeh that sounds like a great idea" |-(

like the truck in pkmn blue, its there near the ship, but is useless and only their to create rumors, luckily however, the mew trick works

Yes I was amazed that the Mew glitch in Yellow Version worked... I actually quite like the mystery that certain 'useless' objects create. I loved the truck because it made me think of all kinds of possibilities. Things like that are good for the imagination, lol.
