hmm that new level of mario is too hard, lets push a super cheat button that lets the game play FOR me, i mean seriously, thats like cooking a microwaveable meal instead of using an oven, its crap, and shigeru wants to put them in other games than the new super mario...ugh, now theres no bragging rights when you win because even some kid with extreme add could beat it by pressing a button

I'm not gonna sit here and dis cheats like a hypocrite, considering this is CHEATING Dome but cheats aren't really that necessary, i only use them if one of the following conditions are fulfilled:

1. Ive totally beaten the game

2. Its an impossible level that ive tried more than 10 times in row

other than that cheats are pretty much for n00bs

^^This may be Cheating Dome but this new cheat is just out of hand. It totally ruins the idea of playing the game.

I mean, if you use this then there is no satisfaction in beating that really hard level or boss. And imagine when people get it to work on XBL or PSN. :/ Pathetic...

yea, i mean, my friend used a cheat code to beat a really hard level of NFS, but all he used was the infinate nos code, and if you crash once, the game cheats and puts a car right behind you, so it wasnt much help and he still beat it
imagine playing mario brothers 3 getting to level 8 and thinking, hmm i cant beat that tank level, lets skip it...

Games are engineered to provide entertainment; as a casual gamer I want full access to a games content, not have to unlock it through relentless gaming, that's not fair. (IE:Team Fortress 2).

So, if they want to implement a skip system to assist in complex puzzles and the like, so be it. It will save me getting up to check a game faq website.

They'd most likely switch off trophies and acheivements though.

doesnt need to be "switched off" you simply do not earn the achievement or trophy if u use the skip system. Same with cheats

it is simply adding a new level to gaming, lets look at it this way. People enjoy watching good gamers play games, so why not give those not so game savvy people a chance to first attempt the puzzle/action/boss etc and then if they fail, they can have the game complete the action for them properly (and usually a lot more elgant), So they can proceed, and enjoy the game.

Yeah but it shouldnt even be available to use in the first place. Once Microsoft and Sony learn how to make it more complex and use it for Live and PSN then you know people are going to use it and it wont be fair for others who actually want to play the game.

I don't think it was made to be used on an online mode of some sort. Just for a single player mode maybe.

yes its just for single player, but for example
halo3 is a tough game on legendary difficulty, not what if i could just let the computer play it and get that same legendary shield symbol when i play online
it gets rid of bragging rights because people can accuse you of cheating the game
