STEELIX
09-07-2009, 05:40 PM
Maby they'll do a crackdown type thing, where everyone buys a game for a demo taht runs out in a week lol
Flamefist95
09-07-2009, 11:01 PM
It will probably be on XBL but anyone have any idea about when it will be available?
The Genie
09-08-2009, 04:13 PM
The release of Halo 3: ODST should be on 09/22/2009
Flamefist95
09-09-2009, 12:11 AM
Wow that soon. I didnt realize that. Ill just wait til the game comes out.

there wouldnt be a beta in the first place, beta's are for online play. odst is really just an extension to halo 3 on a new disc, because its a different storyline, but the multiplayer is the same, not counting firefight, but that doesnt count anyway >_>

I'm getting this game. Looks a lot better the Halo 3. =/
Sesshy
09-09-2009, 03:09 AM
Im probably gonna get it, even though Bungie is milking the **** out of Halo. Cant blame them though, I would of done the same thing. Time to here little kids on how cool they think they are because their so gangsta with their B@77L3 R!FL3z

09-09-2009, 03:23 AM
Lmao! I hate hearing their little pre-pubescent voices whenever I snipe them in the face.
Flamefist95
09-10-2009, 12:26 AM
Lmao. Hahaha. Wait, thats exactly what i do...jk. =D
I want to get this but I want other games more.
Some1
09-10-2009, 12:36 AM
I think this will be it for me for awhile. I still don't even know if I'll get this right away. I'm still saving for that iPod Touch.
Flamefist95
09-11-2009, 12:49 AM
I know Im not getting it right away. Im still saving up for other games.
STEELIX
09-11-2009, 01:19 AM
I'm not getting it on the principle that I wont pay for the same game twice, i want something DIFFERENT! like portal!
Some1
09-11-2009, 01:52 AM
Its not the same game. Yes, its a FPS and Halo but its has no rechargeable health, fall-damage, playable flashbacks and an open-world. Its a very new and very different Halo and that's what excites me about it.
STEELIX
09-11-2009, 02:10 AM
just look at the name Halo 3: 0DST
they couldnt have named it something different,
either way the no rechargeable health, fall damage, are things they could have easily implemented in halo 3, and open world is pointless for this type of game, its more fun to stick to a fixed path
Some1
09-11-2009, 02:17 AM
But my point is, their trying something different and that's what makes it worth giving it a shot.
STEELIX
09-11-2009, 02:53 AM
If theyre trying something different, then they should have done it under a different IP...
Some1
09-11-2009, 03:10 AM
What does Internet provider have to do with this debate? ;) J/K
STEELIX
09-11-2009, 01:42 PM
... you know what I mean, there just taking the popularity of an IP as good as halo, and milking it for all it's worth, its corporate greed and i'll have none of it
Some1
09-11-2009, 03:44 PM
I knew what you were saying I was just joking. I can understand where you coming from but I'd do the same exact thing with too if I were them. Halo is still in the top 10 games played on Xbox Live every week. If people were still playing my game that sold for millions of dollars, I'd be milking it also.
STEELIX
09-12-2009, 06:00 AM
but they need to take risks, or every single game we have is going to be regurgitation, like halo, gears, madden etc...
Some1
09-12-2009, 07:12 AM
Isn't Bungie moving on to a new IP after Halo: Reach?
The Genie
09-12-2009, 07:19 AM
I've read somewhere that Bungie had enough of Halo.
STEELIX
09-12-2009, 03:46 PM
yea, and that was before ODST or Reach were even announced!
Flamefist95
09-12-2009, 09:48 PM
No rechargable health doesnt sound like fun to me lol. And an open world map is confusing, I like the path as well but I still might give this a chance.
STEELIX
09-12-2009, 09:58 PM
open world CAN be good, that is aslong as theres things to distract you from the story line like in GTA IV
you can either do the story line, or goof off
I didnt like how fallout 3 did open world because it was ALL storyline, if you goofed off you'd just be wasting ammo
just depends how its implemented
Flamefist95
09-13-2009, 01:29 AM
Good point there but I have a feeling Halo would be more like Fallout 3 rather than going around killing innocent citizens. (Always fun) I dont even know how they would make it into a real world map.
STEELIX
09-13-2009, 04:04 AM
cheats are always fun too, like the GTA IV cheats, they should add those
Sesshy
09-13-2009, 04:56 AM
, like halo, gears, madden etc...
They allready are. Madden is seriously the same game over. I dunno what little kids like about Halo. Gears of War is just beefy men fighitng Beefy Cave Guys.

Gears of War is just beefy men fighitng Beefy Cave Guys.
So true..It hurts.
Flamefist95
09-13-2009, 02:57 PM
cheats are always fun too, like the GTA IV cheats, they should add those
Yeah they should add those like they have skulls to make the game harder. Except these make the game easier and you still have to look for them.

what i think he meant by open world, is theres more than one way to get to your destination, rather than a fallout3 open world. because, open world like fallout3 or gta would basically be pointless for a game like ODST, since its not an RPG of any sort. you dont buy stuff, you dont level up. you dont go to ap oint to get missions, its a linear story line.
Some1
09-13-2009, 09:10 PM
Nope. It really is an Open-World game but its by no means a Fallout 3 type open world game. The point of the game is to find out what has happened to your missing squad mates. To do this, you play the detective role and wander around the city looking for evidence with an AI called the "Superintendant" helping you and directing you to saftey. Once you find an object, you take the role of one of the missing people in a playable flashback finding out how that object got there.
Flamefist95
09-14-2009, 12:44 AM
That sounds really confusing.
Do you mean like if you want to get from point A to point B, and you can take routes 1, 2, or 3, each leading to a different result in the end?
Some1
09-14-2009, 01:28 AM
Nope. I mean that you use information you get from the AI to search for the "Object".
Flamefist95
09-14-2009, 01:30 AM
Whats an AI? Even though I feel like I should know what it is...Like a CPU?
STEELIX
09-14-2009, 03:45 AM
artificial intelligence so...basically cpu
Some1
09-14-2009, 03:53 AM
Its basically a Cortana if you've played Halo 3.
Flamefist95
09-15-2009, 12:36 AM
Alright but I still dont understand the part about the objects. What kind of objects would they be looking for?
STEELIX
09-15-2009, 12:47 AM
he think he means objective like if you need to find something, or someone it would help
Some1
09-15-2009, 02:12 AM
The objects are things like the gear that your squadmates were wearing. For example, one part you find a sniper rifle hanging from a lamp post. The Rookie (The guy you play as) gets it down and then a flashback commences where you play as the squadmate that used the rifle. At the end of the flashback, it ends with the event that causes the rifle to get up there. Get what I'm saying?
STEELIX
09-15-2009, 04:40 AM
sounds annoying, like metroid where at the begining of ever frickn game you lose ALL of your gear
Some1
09-15-2009, 04:47 AM
No no no. You don't equip the gear like in Metroid its just evidence to fining out what happened during the 6 hours The Rookie was knocked out.
Flamefist95
09-15-2009, 11:40 PM
Alright so I get that part but why would you need evidence and stuff. Thats not usually part of the Halo storyline.
Some1
09-16-2009, 12:20 AM
Its set in the Halo universe therefore it is in the halo storyline.
Sesshy
09-16-2009, 12:22 AM
Your making this way harder than it needs to be
The Rookie is looking for information on what happened to his squad. He searches the city to find out what happened to them.
This isnt your old Master Cheif fight to Point A and then go to Point B.
Your were knocked out and now you want to know what happened to your squad. You find their gear and you go into a flashback mode leading up to how you found it. Just as Some1 said.....
Please tell my you get it
Some1
09-16-2009, 02:23 AM
^Perfecto example.
btw, are you banned from Live again? It says your offline but doesn't give the amount of time you are off.
Sesshy
09-16-2009, 09:31 PM
You put your status offline..thats what it shows for you. I basically did the same thing. Plus I dont get on much, all my friends are gay and dont ever wanna play anything
Some1
09-16-2009, 10:15 PM
I put my where I'm shown on line. I deleted fullanteater or whatever his name was. He was annoying as hell. Always wanting to talk. Anyways, I'll play Custom games on Halo with ya.
Flamefist95
09-19-2009, 12:42 AM
You made it easier to understand. I think I get it now.

1 more day until the release. It sucks that Firefight won't have matchmaking.
Flamefist95
09-22-2009, 12:00 AM
Wow. Why not? Thats pretty lame. So I guess since you posted that yesterday than it came out today...If anyone gets it, tell us how it is.
Some1
09-22-2009, 12:49 AM
No Its tomorrow. I just posted it late last night.
Apparently matchmaking would have required another six months
Flamefist95
09-22-2009, 01:09 AM
Yeah well not a lot of people are probably in a hurry to buy it anyways so it probably would have been worth it.
Some1
09-22-2009, 02:32 AM
At least it'll be better the Halo Wars. lol
Flamefist95
09-27-2009, 06:13 PM
Lol, yeah. WHat were they thinking when they were making that.
Some1
09-27-2009, 08:25 PM
I bought the game and its great. I think 60 bucks is a great deal if you don't already have all the map packs. Single Player was brilliant.
