help with tomb raider 3

I got the code to get the race key in Lara's house from here. I noticed that instead of jumping down the fireplace to get out after you push the switch, you just push the blocks around to get into the attic. My problem is though, when I hit the switch I see the basement door open, but try as I might I cannot get there fast enough before it closes. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong. Please help.:cry:

Your doing nothing wrong. Just make sure that you have a clear path to the basement door. And also try facing the way you want to run in before you hit the switch, it saves you a lot of time, rather than wasting it turning round :)

First you want to push the block already before you press the switch.Then make sure the door leading to the attics open.If it closes after you open it soon then youll have to open it when you get to the bottom of the stairs, i cant remember if it does it shouldnt.After youve done all that this is kinda hard you go to the switch light a flare it helps and press it with the flare in your hand or drop it if you have to,cant remember if you have to.If you have to then youll have to run with one or remember your way in the dark,i can remember easy.Well you should be able to push the switch while holding one.When i push the switch i turn around facing straight with my back facing the switch while the door is opening in that little cutscene thingy showing it open.After it clears from the cutscene thingy i run straight,take a right and around the block using the sprint button some and i turn and sprint down the attic stairs and go left through the door and this is hard i jump over the stairs banister,then the other stairs banister.After i do i hurry and turn and see the door and sprint in it or walk if im close or sometimes roll if its closing when near.
